I agree, im assuming this is the first time they served fast food.
I didnt see any desserts. Hell might as well got $6 meals that came with a pie and a drink.

I only wish he had triggered you more by serving Chic-Fil-A.

It's going to be okay. Seemed like all involved were having a little fun with it.
quote:
"The President wanted to host a fun event to celebrate the College Football National Champion Clemson Tigers," deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley said. "Because the Democrats refuse to negotiate on border security, much of the residence staff at the White House is furloughed — so the President is personally paying for the event to be catered with some of everyone's favorite fast foods."
"Because of the shutdown, you know we have the great Clemson team with us, the national champions. So we went out and we ordered American fast food, paid for by me," Trump said. "Lots of hamburgers, lots of pizza."
"We have some very large people that like eating. So I think we're going to have a little fun," he added.
"I had a choice. Do we have no food for you, because we have a shutdown?" Trump told the team gathered Monday in the White House East Room.
"Or do I go out ... do I go out and send out for about 1,000 hamburgers, Big Macs," Trump said.
"I mean you're not just gonna NOT eat the Big Macs stacked in a pile right?" tweeted Clemson offensive lineman Matt Bockhorst, who had been caught on camera smiling impishly as he loaded his plate with two Big Macs, which keen social media users quickly turned into a meme.

This kinda reminds me of the Simpsons episode when SKinner screwed the pooch for dinner and ran out to buy Krusty Burgers and disguised them as steamed hams.

Most of you bitches bitch about taxation. I agree, taxation is theft.
Yet, here you salty mother frickers are bitching because more tax dollars weren't wasted on some jingoistic display that has no intrinsic value outside of a media opportunity for both parties.
frick Clemson, frick Trump, and frick the spending of stolen revenue, even if it only cost $349.

Imagine winning a championship with your team in a major sport and you get visit the white house and meet the president. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity....and they serve you fast food that you can get literally anywhere, and as a poor college student probably some thing you already eat way too often as it is. That's disappointing af. I would have rather not eaten and picked myself up something afterwards

Soiled? These are college kids! It was all in fun and a memorable experience. They will never forget the time they ate a fast food buffet with the president. No one would remember being served spaghetti and meatballs. Quit trying to find things to complain about

Thanks Bowl but I'd already been clued in just as well but far less eyerolling-ly dramatically.

Can we please stop with this.
And this isn't a "clemson cheats so of course they aren't poor"
These kids get fed grade A meals daily by the football teams nutritionists. They aren't eating the same shite we ate in the dining halls/student union.
That said, nothing like a little cheat day. They've been fed lean chicken, kale, broccoli ETC all season. Finally they're "allowed" to get something like this.

Just as wrong about politics as you are about sports. Well, at least you are consistent.

AU has a world class nutrition center too where athletes can eat free, and they definitely take advantage. They still plenty of fast food and junk food.

I'd imagine I wouldn't have given any thought about meals or what meals they were serving. I sure as hell wouldn't have given any thought about the meals afterward.
What were the previous teams served? I can't remember ever hearing anything about the visiting teams "meal", before today. Think that whole experience for the players is dictated by a meal?
