Clemson fans in an unusual dilemma. (This post is really about Tennessee....)

They might actually have to pulls for the gamecocks this weekend. A Tennessee loss is their best chance of getting in the playoffs. If TN wins out, they'll have victories over Bama and the SCE-W champions. Clemson's best win is either a 3 loss NC State or a ref gifted win vs a 4 loss Syracuse team (take your pick).
On the other hand, with the two teams BOTH facing SC in back to back weeks, it gives the committee a good A to B comparison.
In other words, Buckle up Buttercup. The next two weeks as an SC fan might look like this...

South Carolina has a better chance of beating Clemson. Then Tennessee.

They have zero chance of "beating Clemson. Then Tennessee"...because they play Tennessee first.

South Carolina has a better chance of beating Clemson than Tennessee.

I don't think anyone is arguing any different. But that's not the point. The point is Clemson fans have to swallow their pride and pull for the Gamecocks to pull the upset this weekend (something that Gamecock fans should take delight in). Tennessee has to pull out all of the stops and get as many "Style points" vs SC as they can. With Clemson's anemic offense, Tn has to try and score as many as they can vs the Gamecocks.
On the flip side, Tennessee fans should be pulling for SC vs Clemson. Obviously, a Clemson loss helps Tn. A poor showing by the tigers vs the gamecocks would as well.
Unfortunately for SC, they are sandwiched between two playoff bubble teams and will likely face the ire of both...

I always pull for scrubs whenever they play a higher ranked team.

By that logic you should be pulling against your Vols this weekend. Thanks for your support...

I have ZERO idea why. If you score 2 TD's you're golden...

A 12-1 ACC CHamp clemson is 100% getting in the playoffs above an 11-1 tennesee that didnt' win its division.

Hmmmm, I know stranger things have happened, but I don't see TCU losing with that schedule.

Clemson has beaten 2 ranked teams. Tennessee has beaten 2 ranked teams. If Clemson beats North Carolina they will have beaten 3 ranked teams. If Clemson wins out they are in the playoffs before Tennessee.

Agree. Need NC St to beat UNC, and then UNC to beat Clemson.
Need UCLA to beat USC.
Need UCLA to beat USC.

The Pac12 and ACC both having 2-loss champions is the exact amount of chaos that UT needs. If all of that were to happen, I think it's extremely likely that they'd get in, if we assume UGA/OSU/TCU win out.

I'm not so sure with Clemson's schedule. They have zero quality wins and 1 bad loss. Tennessee has 2 quality wins and 1 bad loss to the #1 team in the nation. Clemson lost to ND, who has 3 losses of their own (including a bad loss to Marshall).
That's what makes SC's games the next two weeks so interesting. I hate to say it, but Tennessee's resume is better than Clemson's at this point. What if Tennessee blows out SC on the road and Clemson plays them a close game at home (and with Clemson's offense, that's possible). Sure Clemson get's a 13th game in the ACC championship and that's one on the plus side for them.
I don't think the committee has ever been faced with two playoff eligible teams playing the same opponent in back to back weeks this late in the season. That's an interesting dynamic.

So Vols have to out do Clemson with a common opponent. I would like to apologize in advance.
