Sounds like somebody's PR Dept is running to get ahead of the story.
No, it sounds like there's an NFL Scout saying he's verified that Claiborne had a learning disability that was diagnosed way back during middle/high school.
All of these draft-eligible types take the Wonderlic the Spring of either their Junior or Sophomore Year (much like the ACT) and their scores are distributed to team personnel afterwards. Teams do their due diligence afterwards.
Florio was so hard-up for a story that grabbed headlines that he decided to run Claiborne's intelligence & LSU's good name through the mud without asking for any comment out of the Claiborne camp or LSU for that matter (not that LSU would disclose the learning disability issue as I'm sure that's a confidential matter).
I'll go ahead and say this now so you bookmark it for later. Kenny Hilliard has a learning disability as well. His family found him a tutor that completely turned his academic career around and ended up with him graduating at mid-term from Patterson HS.
His whole point was to get in early & redshirt because he was afraid academics would be a big stumbling block for him. Once he got here, he realized the tutoring and work he'd put in were helping more than he thought they would at this level, which is why he played more and more as the year progressed.
Sometimes we all rush to judgement, and I think this is one of those times, everyone.

Long time no see, arrakis.
They had to contact LSU to get that information. So that scout is running what LSU told him more than likely.

not necessarily

When Claiborne came out of high school, the schools that recruited him knew he had a learning disability. I don’t know much about his disability other than it has to do with reading. Everyone I have talked to tells me that Claiborne has great character and is a great kid. He knows and understands his disability and uses all the resources that LSU has available to control it and to help him get by in the classroom.

I have no idea how u get a four even with a disability. I understand he is a slow learner but with all of the tutors, he HAD to have learned something.

After taking the sample test I am now convinced abnormally low scores are the result of a lack of effort not intelligence

After playing 2 hours of Call of Duty, I am now convinced anyone who dies of enemy fire in a forward combat area on a battlefield is just incredibly stupid and lacks hand-eye coordination.
Awesome take bro. I'm guessing you'd ace college level logic application-related classes.

He probably did get paid
He was a 3 star. The coaches coached him up and he was an amazing athlete that the scouts missed.

Claiborne would probably frag himself.
