IMO he's made some good moves in the hiring of assistants. Only time will tell if he's worth a shite.

So far it's going pretty good. I'm impressed.

I like the Taylor hire. I think it is a good move for recruiting. I dont know if Chizik can turn it around as quickly as little Nicky did at Bama though.

I was not enthused by him or any of the folks interviewed or mentioned for the HC job. I am very glad it was not Muschamp or Jimbo.
He has named some pretty good sounding guys with decent resumes, but I'm still not sold. I am taking a wait and see attitude. I still think we are probably a 5-7 6-6 team again next year.

More Auburn and Arkansas fans to loosen the stranglehold of LSU and Alabama fans on this board.
Pretty much more from every team in the East, sans Tennessee and maybe Florida, who both have decent showings here.

Roof hired as DC.
Facts:
- Veteran defensive coach comes to Minnesota after serving as head coach at Duke University for four seasons.

- As defensive coordinator at Georgia Tech, his 2000 unit ranked No. 12 in the nation in rushing defense and No. 20 in scoring defense. Roof was nominated for the Broyles Award, given to the top assistant coach in the nation following the 2000 season.
- In 2001 under Roof, the Yellow Jackets were again one of the top defenses in the nation, ranking 23rd nationally in total defense and 32nd in rushing defense.

- Recruiting efforts during first stint at Duke (1990-93) helped lay the foundation for the Blue Devils 8-4 mark and Hall of Fame Bowl berth in 1994.
Accomplishments as a Player
