Funky. My hope is that with Lolley back and Chizik overlooking things our secondary play will improve. Anyone who watched saw the greatest drop off on the defense was with our secondary in 05, it has degraded since. I'm surprised UF wasn't able to expose this more, LSU hit us at times but not many. UGA exposed it greatly making Stafford's highlight real fat.

considering CTT appeared to not have a pulse last season, anyone could have brought new energy to their program. can't wait for the season to start so we can see what CGC is all about.

Tubs remained calm and cool publicly last season, he expected the coaching staff to pull it together. The problem was there were so many divides that the wheels just came off. We ended up pretty much the worst case scenario.

I love to see how people arent giving Auburn a chance this year. We usually do better when we have low expectations.

Bottom line, like an earlier poster said, we lost 4 games by 4 pts or less. Under Chizik, our D will be like it's been forever, stout

We will be better on offense than we were last year and we have virtually the same team coming back. We'll also be better at QB with Caudle.

Depth is going to be Auburn's main concern this year.

Orgeron had a lot of energy at Ole Miss. That worked out well.

I agree. The season comes down to the offensive line. If it takes a lot of injuries we could see another 2008, if the starters stay health or we find a few quality backups that step up when needed we'll do well.

I may have been. Dunno when that was.

Still think Auburn is a couple years away from competing with 'Bama again..... and every year Saban has a top #1 or #2 class, and Auburn doesn't, that adds a year.

You realize Bama might not be the fav going into the game this fall right?

Bama is replacing several key OLinemen, a new QB, new RB. That is a lot of experience that is lost. Also it took Bama one class just to get on the talent level Auburn has. As said there is a lot of talent on Auburn right now. Also Auburn has the fastest roster in the SEC I expect that to be used well by Mal.

Go check the last 3 years and see who has signed more 4.4 or lower guys. Ole Miss is second, I'll give you that hint.

Those numbers illustrate which teams have the "fastest" players, but not the overall fastest roster. But, you however, are correct. Since the 2006 signing class (seniors this year), Auburn has signed more guys with 4.5 forty times or better than any other SEC team. Florida comes in a very close 2nd.

Speed is only one component of a good football player. The cool thing about it, is that's the one thing you can't teach.

I like our chances this year, barring an injury to McElroy.

Lache Seastrunk

I don't want to take anything to seriously this early in the recruiting game, but Auburn seems to be in a really, really good position to land him. I read he, as well as Lattimore, is trying to come in contact with the #1 Offensive Lineman in the nation(Seantrel Henderson) to get him to take a look at Auburn. Of course, Henderson won't come to Auburn and I doubt we even get looked at, as he will more than likely go to one of the top Big Ten schools; but Seastrunk "recruiting for us" is a good sign.

And Seastrunk also declined a visit to go to a camp in Austin this past weekend.

I have to say that while anything can happen in the next few months, it is looking really good for Auburn with Seastrunk.

I REALLY wanna see the meltdown if this happens, but it's just so damn early. 8 long months until signing day.

Yeah, I can't take anything to seriously at this point. Texas fans were banking on Seastrunk to be at that camp this past weekend to "remind him why Texas was high on his list for so long", but he was a no show.

I still get a pretty good laugh because some people on the Recruiting Board still don't think Auburn is in contention for Seastrunk.

The recruiting rant is an absolute joke. There are some good posters there, but mostly it's just retards.

The gurus know more than Seastrunk himself. frick his positive quotes about Auburn, he's a LSU/Texas lock.
