We was cheated out of one when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.

At 8-1-1 we were stuck in San Francisco after the attack and missed out on the bowl game that could have sealed it for us. We are M-State!

The Trojans defeated the Tennessee Volunteers in the 1940 Rose Bowl, scoring the only points achieved on the Volunteers all season, ending their 23-game win streak. They were crowned as national champions by the Dickinson System, which is designated as an NCAA "major selector" of national champions.
