I don't remember what year it was....

We went to New Orleans to see the King Tut exhibit. While we were there, we took a tour of the Superdome. The Jazz were practicing that day. They started showing up for practice. I got Elgin Baylor (HC), Pistol Pete, Gail Goodrich autograph.

We went and watched them play the Golden State Warriors that night. Rick Barry missed a FT in OT that would have sent it into a second OT.

Dad couldn't remember what garage he had parked in. We walked around lost forever. We were standing in a garage trying to figure it out and a door opens up. Here comes the Warriors out the door. I got Rick Barry's autograph among others.

It was a hell of a day.

ETA Oh yeah, we were sitting at a red light. Saw the first dude dressed like a girl I had ever seen. Walked right in front the car. I was floored. Purse and everything.

I met spurrier at a South Carolina football camp when I was in high school (my dad played in the band there, don't think I'm a SC fan). He came up and signed my shirt because I was the only UGA fan there.

I got to meet Cal Ripken Jr. in NYC when I was in college. Growing up idolizing him and actually meeting him when I was older made the experience that much more enjoyable.

Damn and Boris Becker now bankrupt
Saw that the other day.

I took the first game off him, I had a big serve in those days. He figured it out pretty quick after that, and he ran everything down. Made me look silly after game 3.

The gap between an average pro tennis player and guys like Becker is unbelievable.

Talked to Terrell Davis during a flight into Atlanta in 1999. He was a cool guy. I was surprised how talkative he was to me but I didn't make a big deal about who he was.

Was in a college pr group that traveled and I stayed at Alexander Wright's (auburn - rams) house for a few days. He had just won NFL's fastest man. He let us drive his high end Mercedes while we were there and was just a great guy. We also asked to race him down the street.... it makes you realize the difference in elite speed and normal white guy speed. I was actually pretty decent in track in high school but wow - it was an awesome experience to race someone that fast.

Enos Slaughter at the old donut shop on Flint street in Jonesboro. My Dad stopped to get some donuts on the way to the duck woods and Slaughter was in there with a couple of local guides getting ready to go hunt also. Nice gentleman.

Steve McNair on a Saturday afternoon while walking with a friend by Chastain HS in Jackson, Ms. They were playing a football game with some guys who lived near the HS or were going there etc. We got invited to join in and I actually caught a TD pass from him.

Met Bret Favre twice, once in Hattiesburg and once at the airport. Down to earth guy you will ever meet.

Archie Manning and wife at a restaurant and Darryl Strawberry at a deli in Jackson.

I pissed next to a major franchise owner at a charity deal years ago. He was hammered mumbling to himself about how pissed he was about being at the event. Total Scrooge style. Ha.

Was playing golf in Florida last summer. Sliced my drive way right onto another holes fairway. My ball hit a golf cart. Came to find out that Bubba Watson was sitting in that golf cart. Cool guy. Signed my golf ball and glove.

Ran into Michael Jordan at The Galleria in Birmingham when he was playing for the Birmingham Barons. Ran into The Big Show at the Dubai International Airport.

Not an athlete, but met Bootsy Collins at an airport as well.

Was at church one morning and bumped into David Robinson. Literally. Turned around and ran right into him. He is a very tall man.

I boarded a commuter flight from Houston to College Station. My seat was next to John David Crow. I recognized him immediately but didn't want to bother him.

Instead, he saw my ring and started the conversation. We chatted the entire flight (45 minutes, including taxi etc).

What a nice person.

Sat next to Curtis Martin at Beauty & The Beast on Broadway when he was dating Toni Braxton (she was the lead in the play). Class act all the way.

Keith Byers was with him. If there's a guy with wider shoulders and a larger pumpkin head than Byers, I certainly haven't met him.

I got hammered in Vegas one night and decided to hit the craps table at 3 am on the way back to the room in the Venetian and ended up walking up next to Marlon Wayans and helped him win another 5 or 6k by convincing him to stay on the hot roller. He ran around the casino screaming with his shirt off after every 100-200 dollar hard ways hit
