CFP Works as Intended

The whole intention of expanding the CFP was to make sure teams arguably in the 3-4 range have a legitimate shot at making the Championship game. Any team beyond 6 or so is like leaving it up to the judges in a 12 round boxing match. You could get burned and have to live with it.
Now let’s go JM and sunbelt billy.

The real problem is still the fact that there’s a committee. It doesn’t matter how many teams. Until there are defined rules on how to make the playoffs, there will be turmoil.
This is a good thing because it brings us one step closer to what is needed.

In some ways it mirrors the same problems as NIL. Gotta fix NIL (ie cap), portal dates, division alignment.
You basically have to turn it into college NFL, and we will get there inevitably

This place doesn't like the rules when it doesn't benefit their team.

Exactly. This is like the Dodgers winning the world series.
Of course a team with a budget of 140 mil is not gonna compete with a team that has a 275 mil budget.

Yep. That snowball started down the hill when NIL was introduced. The chaos of today should only mercifully speed it up.

No, the real problem is that a some mediocre big schools that finish 3-6 in their own conference now think they deserve automatic berths since they have 8 additional spots.

No it doesnt.
The teams in the 1-4 range are the only teams worth a frick with a legit chance to win.
The rest of the field is to generate revenue.
James Madison is about to play in the playoffs. Think about that.

What rank was OSU last year?

Case in point. There should be defined rules on how to earn a spot, then the world can stop bitching about subjective ideas like who “deserves” to get in or not.

Bama had an off night but I wouldn’t count them out. Who knows how Indiana would fair against ol miss, but 13 points wouldn’t cut it even without LK.

2003 Florida Marlins beating the Yankees would disagree. 24th highest budget vs.1st highest. 54mil vs.164mil.

To debunk what you said, it was all I needed.
They not only competed with them, they won the World Series against them.
