With the penultimate rankings last night we found out who is pretty much in the playoffs, but seeding is up in the air.
Here are the seeding scenarios:
Oregon- 1 with a win and 5 with a loss

Texas-1 with a win and Oregon loss, 2 with a win and Oregon win, 5 with a loss and Oregon win, and 6 with a loss and Oregon loss

SMU-3 with a win and out with a loss

Boise-3 with a with and SMU loss, 4 with a win and SMU win, and out with a loss

Penn State-1 with a win and Texas loss, 2 with a win and Texas win, 6 with a loss and Texas win(maybe 5 if their loss to Oregon is close), and 7 with a loss and Texas loss(maybe 6 if their loss to Oregon is close)

Notre Dame-5 with an Oregon and Texas win(maybe 6 if Penn St loss is close), 6 with one of Oregon and Texas winning and the other losing(possibly 7 if Penn State loses close to Oregon), and 7 if both Oregon and Texas lose

Georgia-2 with a win and 7 with a loss regardless of what else happens

Ohio State-locked in at 8

Tennessee-locked in at 9

Indiana- locked in at 10

Bama- locked in at 11

Arizona St/Iowa St- 3 with a win and SMU and Boise St loss, 4 with a win and SMU or Boise loss, and 12 with a win and SMU and Boise win

Clemson- 4 with a win and Boise loss and 12 with a win and Boise win

UNLV- 12 with a win and out with a loss

Looks like a bunch of shite teams to me. Amazing how last year if you lost late you were donem.except for Bama. This year it was a prerequisite to making the playoffs.

Its good that it’s designed not to only look at the last few weeks of the season. You’re supposed to take the entire season into account and not just part of it. Yeah y’all look great right now but you still lost 3 games early in the year and to the wrong teams.
Same for us. We could argue “Well we only lost by 1 score in each of our losses but we beat Georgia by 3 scores”.

Doesn’t matter. We still lost to Kentucky and that has to be taken into account when ranking teams.

Is it not about time to kill this team again?

ou sure? The Committee said they wouldn't punish a conference championship loser so if the game is close and SMU barely loses...

Ohio state beat Penn State. They lost to Oregon by 1 point. If Oregon beats Penn State by a couple of scores. They may swap Penn state and Ohio State.
Now Texas and Georgia game will interesting. If Georgia wins. Will they just swap spots?

So many teams can loose their way into the “championship”

Just go to 16 teams no byes

Top 16 rated teams so less likely to lose their way in……

Bama will be the biggest SMU fans next Sat. If Clemson wins, Tide are likely out.

The second game of the year is late in the season?

The first quarter of football games don't actually count. Alabama actually lost to Georgia 34-20
