CFB playoff should adopt a 2 plus 10 format

The SEC and Big 10 champions plus the next ten highest-rated teams
The 5 plus 7 format proposal with the ACC, Big 12 and whatever other conference champions getting automatic bids is a joke
Who would even be considered as the 5th power five conference?

Rank the 5 conference (including the old Pac 12) based on who you think is the best conferences. You guys keep overrating the Big 12, and just bc A&M sucked in the Big 12 (bc that will be your rebuttal), it doesn’t change the fact that the Big 12 isn’t as strong as you guys make it out to be.
I would rank the conferences (football only):
1. SEC
2. Big 10
3. ACC
4. Big 12
5. (Former) Pac 12
Let’s see your list if you ain’t scared.

The top 6 highest ranked conference champions get an automatic bid, pac 2 excluded.
The remaining 6 spots go to the highest ranked teams (or whatever clusterfricked selection system they decide to use)
Take a gander at the conferences outside of the top 4:
New conferences - 6 champions auto-bid excluding PAC 2
Imagine the Playoffs with the new realignment.
Legitimate playoff possibility for 2024
Championship Bye:
1sec - UGA
2big10 - Ohio State
3acc - fla state
4big12 - colorado
Rnd1 (2 championship auto bids):
5aac - Army
6cusa - la tech
7-12 remaining top ranked teams, heavy SEC/Big10
2 games in round 1 will be warmup games for the big boys.
In this case, Colorado will have the fortunate luck of getting hammered by the likes of LSU, Ole Miss, Oregon, Michigan, Alabama, etc because they’re forced to play the top ranked team that didn’t qualify for a bye.
The 2023 playoff example from the link above is not an accurate representation with the new alignment in place, and the matchups wouldn’t be nearly as good. Not even close
2024 realignment + new playoff = bad matchups
They wont stop until final alignment looks more along the lines of NFC/AFC in 8-10yrs
Ya think the money is big now, just wait.
The excitement of College football as we knew it will never return.
We wanted a real playoff, and that’s what they’re going to give us.
And they’ll laugh all the way to the bank while giving us exactly what we wanted while simultaneously ruining the game.
Can’t say they didn’t warn us it would come to this, because they did.
They engineered fan consent to line their pockets with billions of dollars a year.

I could be wrong, but pretty sure a Goup of Five was already getting an auto bid provided there was one in the final playoff committee rankings (and there always is at least one). Think the highest ranked would get an auto bid. So this isn't something new.

Unfortunately, the committee won’t decide.
The 2 highest ranked group of 5 conference champs get an auto bid for seeds 5 & 6

You are correct. Highest ranked group of 5 team gets the 12 spot.

How does an 11 team playoff bracket work?

They’re changing it to 5 highest ranked conference champions, the vote is going to be this month

1. SEC
2. B1G
Plus the next 10 highest ranked teams
There is no more Pac 12 (other than Oregon State and Washington State). I don't feel the Big 12, ACC or group of 5 champions deserve an automatic bid over the SEC runner-up
Going forward the odds of a non-SEC/B1G team not winning the national championship are slim
The gap is widening, not closing
