There needs to be no more than 10 Bowl games. This is enough reason to up the win total to qualify for a bowl game to a minimum of 8 wins. Preferably, 9 wins.
I disagree. Lots of bowl games means lots of extra practices for lots of teams.
In case you forgot, CNS used the Independence Bowl after the 2007 season to help build his program at Alabama. No bowl that year may have slowed the "process" for your team.
I hope AU can find a way to win 6 and go to Memphis, Nashville, or Birmingham and get the EXTRA practices.

Tough shite. Is that all bowl season is now? Extra practices? I'd be a lot happier if it actually meant something.
ONLY reason I like it because of more games. But they aren't that exciting. Occasionally you get a Nevada/Arizona type game that is exciting, but look at the atmosphere. It almost kills it. Nobody in the stands, announcers are asleep and fans are too for the most part. We have the fricking "Famous Idaho Potato Bowl" for fricks sake.
Knock it down to 10-15.

Just to ask: How many of the Gamecocks bowls would not have been played under your system?
I agree 35 is too many, but 10 seems a little light.
Also, teams like Navy and Air Force are deserving of a little fun even if they are not top 25 material.

I don't understand the relevance. This doesn't change my opinion.
Postseason play should be reserved for teams worthy of playing in the postseason. Where would you draw that line?

If you're going to troll UGA, please do some research. UGA has sold 80% of their allotted tickets at full price + premium. When I interned in the Sports Communication office at UGA, unless it was a BCS game the goal was 65-75% upfront. Due to the number of Bowl games (less significance) and other ticket outlets (StubHub), that percentile is a benchmark for many schools. McGarity and Foley utilized at UF.
So Nebraska is struggling to sell their portion is not a reflection on UGA. I know you find that hard to believe.

I guess 25 bowls. 8-4 record. Include service academies and small conferences with good records.
I guess you could have a 2 tiered system with a 16 team playoff for "big" programs and 10 bowl games for deserving teams that cannot compete for the playoff.
Football should probably be structured by revenue to allow for a full blown playoff. So the top 32 revenue programs should be a division and so on. This would be a fair system, but would also destroy most conferences.
