re: Can we talk about the job Jeremy Pruitt has done at turning around Tennessee this season?

I think Tenn goes 7-5 they’ll beat Missouri and Vandy. Win a bowl game and they’ll be 8-5 after starting 1-5.
I might nut
ETA we were actually 1-4, then picked up a W v. State and the annual L v. BAMA to be 2-5

Jennings and Callaway at WR are as good as anybody
I like their LBs: Taylor, Bituli and To'o To'o
Jennings, Callaway, Taylor, and Bituli will be playing on Sunday next year.
UT must find someone to step up and fill in these holes.

Didn't your 5 star, national championship caliber squad lose at home to South Carolina?

Tenner’s 5-5 with losses to Ga. State and BYU, at home, and you’re talking about what a good job Pruitt’s doing.
Let that sink in.
The discussion is about the turn around since the 0-2 start.
Tennessee easily beat a South Carolina team that beat UGA.
Let that sink in.

Felt the same way for the Bama/Tenn game, I figured Tenn would roll over and quit. You could tell they weren't going to give up on the season. 1 more win and they go bowling. After week 2, I thought no chance.
After week 2, I was wondering if we'd win any games at all.

What turn around? You've beaten nobody worth a damn. Just because UGA wet the bed against USC doesn't mean beating them is some great feat. What did UGA do to Tennessee. Where is UGA sitting right now compared to Tennessee, even with an ugly loss to USC?
If you want to crow about beating those teams go ahead.

Still not sold on Germy. Their offense is still absolutely awful and has shown little improvement (109th in total offense and 100th in scoring offense). It's understandable why their passing game isn't great with Guarantano as their QB but their running game is atrocious (102nd). If your team can't generate offense in today's game, you won't ever win anything of consequence. Even a defensive oriented team like Wisconsin has a stellar running game and can put up a bunch of points on the board when they have to. And Tennessee's defense is okay (37th in total defense and 41st in scoring defense) but far from elite. Basically, they're comparable to the teams Will Muschamp had at Florida. Those teams had good defenses and horrendous offenses too. And it all ended up falling apart at the end.

This is a poor take on my original OP. I know you are trolling, but I was hoping this would facilitate a truer, more honest approach. If you don't think that losing to Ga. State and BYU at home to start the season, then turning it around winning 5 games including 3 in the SEC before playing vandy, I don't know what to tell you. Literally no one was giving the VOLS a chance to make a bowl after those 2 games and that team had every right to quit and they didn't. I think that's an outstanding coaching job in season.
Also if you follow recruiting at all, you would know that Tenn is at the tops of the nation in recruiting Oline talent and pretty good at recruiting dline talent as well. Being a Dawg I would think you know just how far a good Oline can take you.
Do they still have pieces to get to be a competitive team in the east? Yes. Do they still need to finish the season strong to make this a true successful season? Yes. Do they need to use this season as a stepping stone and show consistent improvement? Also yes. But to sit there and say that this isn't a good job by Pruitt is a dumb take or trolling...take your pick.

Crootin' and player development should give us a boost next season; that is assuming Pruitt can keep improving his players at the pace he has this season.

I get it- transitive property is a hoax, so on and so forth. Fellow VFL was reacting to a low quality troll attempt, as was I. We shouldn't bother with the resident idiot in the first place.
That being said, do you really mean this?
There is no question Tennessee has reversed its slippery slope. If you have kept up, the team is much more physical than it was in September. The defense is showing excellent returns. After giving up 38 to Georgia State, the defensive product is actually playing conference teams worth a damn. Does Tennessee have any quality wins? No, not really. But they have managed to reach 5-5 after starting out 1-4. That isn't easy to do when the beginning of the season was nearly a wash.

That's a terrible comparison. Offense and defense look nothing like what they did at the start of the year but you can't average out your past when you start that poorly. It's like getting a zero on your first test when there's only 3 tests that determine your grade.

Tennessee scored 20 points against Mississippi State. They scored 30 points against UAB despite getting the ball deep inside their opponent's territory due to turnovers four times. They scored only 17 points, had less than 300 total yards of offense and needed a last minute goal line stand to barely beat Kentucky. Tennessee's offense is awful.

We never had possession of the ball against UK.
Muschamp's offenses always lacked big plays. That's the one thing we've got on offense. We struggle at the more mundane aspects. You couldn't have picked a worse comparison.

Yep need a upgrade at QB very bad. Hopefully that is on the way.

1) When you hit absolute rock bottom, there’s no other way but up.
2) Who’s Tenner beaten?
3) Why are you dick riding Tenner? Are you a alter? Tenner is famous for that here. And all Vowels were calling for Jermy’s head after losing to Ga. State and BYU. All.

Our starting QB has had two concussions and neck injuries this year, and our backup QB is playing with a broken wrist.
Offense will be fine going forward with Chaney
