LSU only won because of a once in 3 generations QB and home state advantage in title game.

We had to go play for the conference championship in our opponents back yard...

We had to go through Tuscaloosa and a 41 game home win streak to get to the conf championship.

We went on the road to DKR stadium on a 100 deg day in Sept to play a nonconference opponent...

...so what the hell we got to play in the Superdome for the Natty where we got skull fricked the last time we played there.

Whats your point?

So ALL those teams losing in the last week in '07 was some type of miracle?
oh here we go. name the team who deserved to be in the ncg more than lsu.

let me guess - uga.

at the end of the season, lsu's resume was objectively better than everyone else's. lsu deserved to be in the title game and won it convincingly. you're acting like the last week of the season doesn't count towards a whole season's resume. like it's some sort of exception that got broken for lsu

is this the new "muh decline?" the rant promised me back in 2012 that lsu was on the decline and i've been waiting patiently ever since but, i'm running out of patience.

Hmmm, 2020 NFL draft class is a "Strong one."

LINK

The 2020 NFL draft class is "loaded with talent than can be franchise setting."

LINK

The 2020 NFL draft is "so stacked with talent"

LINK

Yes, 2019 was a down year in CFB. You are really, really, one of the sorriest "Bleepers" on this site.

It was. USC,AL,ND,ORE,UGA,AUB, were all down. There maybe 3 good games
and lsu dominated so what's your point?

and how would you even quantify such a thing anyway?

all year long people kept saying "wait for lsu to play a real defense." so are you now saying that those teams actually weren't that good? get your story straight.

quote:

USC,ND,ORE
and this is stupid. like oregon was ever elite anyway. nd is perenially overrated. take usc, they don't have the talent and coaching they have had. but those players and coaches exist somewhere in cfb even though they aren't at usc. so acting like this somehow makes all of cfb "down" is stupid. it's not like after talent/coaching left usc, it just disappeared from cfb. it's still out there just on different teams. if you're going to argue that the talent pool has been diluted, then you have to give credit to lsu for coaching up 2 stars and 3 stars into high draft picks. you can't have it both ways.

quote:

AUB
was not "down." they were about the same team they've been for a decade sans cam

quote:

UGA
you think uga was "down" this year? have you seen their roster?

quote:

AL
was definitely not "down." not the best team they've had over the last few years but "down" is laughable.

You say this the year LSU, Ohio St, and Clemson were all undefeated
exactly. before the seccg, the knock on lsu was lack of experience in postseason. uga, clemson, ok and osu had all "been there." lsu was supposed to be outclassed but instead destroyed those three teams and their experience

counter to your insinuation that it's easy for a coach to win titles at LSU, the results seem to indicate it's pretty hard
yet lsu was 13th all time in wins PRIOR to saban's arrival. are we rewriting history now?

quote:

he'd find at least 5 other SEC programs that won the SEC more than LSU did during that long stretch.
that "stretch" included lsu's worst decade of fb in a century. but don't mention that

quote:

So Nick Saban arrived there and built the program
and even this is misleading. that team he inherited was really good. plenty of talent. it's not like he built it from the ground up like ga southern or fau or grand canyon u.

quote:

Les Miles won for a few years, but failed to sustain that success
that level of success was WAY higher than pretty much every program in the nation. he never won less than 8 games and only did that once in a decade. who else can say that?

quote:

why did Miles fail to badly
"so badly"

quote:

why was there so little relative success from the 1950's up till Nick Saban arrived there?
oh my word. it's like this thread is from 2004.

Wait, so LSU has the best season ever and are now ridiculed by lesser programs because of it? I mean please! Georgia has the opportunity every year to do this and they haven’t. I remember living in Georgia back in 08 when all the dawg fans felt entitled to win a natty just because FL and LSU had won years previous. Yall are the Hillary Clinton of SEC football. It’s always “your turn,” yet it never happens for you. You should feel bad for this thread, but i know you are an idiot so you won’t. Ah to be that ignorant.

You guys were ready to run O of town after 2018
but wait. this thread is saying lsu fans should be happy that they caught lightning in a bottle in 2019. which is it? were lsu fans mad at o because he should be doing better than winning ONLY 10 games or should lsu fans be happy with having a winning season once in a decade? figure it out

The contradictions in these desperate attempts to marginalize LSU's success are pure comedy gold.

I would have more respect for LSU if they beat both OSU and Clemson in playoffs and beat Alabama with a healthy Tua.

Playing that Oklahoma team in 1st round was like a bye.

We can’t possibly live up to the standards set by the almighty Texas A and M or Georgia. We should be grateful that they deemed us worthy to allow us a magic season they let us have this.

why are you acting like bama and clemson don't face this every year. yet they seem to maintain an elite status. so why isn't another program capable of doing that? lsu has a TON of talent returning on both sides of the ball. the oc is returning. one of the best dc's in the game is back on staff. tons of shadow staff and analysts. there's no reason to not be optimistic about a successful season.

If you put anyone on the field last year we would have kicked their arse, especially at the end of the year. I can barely remember who we even beat in the final game.

obvious satire is obvious homey

Clemson's team this year was capable of beating LSU though.

Why is he acting like this is even a problem that we should feel bad for? We won. End of story. They didn’t win and are envious, so they try to deride us for experiencing something that they have never even sniffed.

Not worried about your worthless respect. The record and teams beaten speaks for itself. Bottom line is you were up to the challenge. Go cry on that shitty message board of yours with your low IQ fans.

Eta: A Clemson fan talking strength of schedule.

Your whole season is a bye.
