Wait, did you actually watch the national title game?

Yes and I watched your season too. Clemson's special teams play was garbage. Bama's has been 'special' much of the year.

The one with a Top 20 punter, great kickoff coverage unit, 23/32 FG (23/28 post-week 2) & 62/62 XP kicker not to mention a punt return for TD, kick return for TD and greatest onside kick in the history of the national championship special teams?

Yea, we sucked arse at it.

Gaulden is miles better than Foreman.

Austin Smith or Kenny Bynum probably the 3rd LB depending on match ups.

Glad for Malik that he played well down the stretch. He had a rough go of it there for a while.

Gaulden may move to safety with nickel being less important under Shoop. In that case, Foreman would likely stay at nickel for the times we do run it.

S&P Special Teams Ratings

S&P Special Teams Rank
18. Alabama
96. Clemson

So yes, half of your statement was right. Clemson is not very good on special teams.

I said it here before the season, that was easily the biggest of the VOLS preseason season ending injuries.

He's had injury problems dating back to HS because he plays a little recklessly at times (as far as just flying around trying to hit people every play), but if he stays healthy he will be a top 5 player on the defense. Foreman is a nice guy to have as your 5th CB which is what he'll be next year.

I mean, Foreman was a guy that was going to go to Furman or Wofford until Franklin suddenly recruited him and then Jones frantically was looking for fast guys to speed up the roster and he got an offer there. He was always a raw dude out of DB that got thrown into the fire early. Hope he has a full good season next year.

Gee with Clemson at 98, no wonder Drake ran that back. My grandma could've done it. Why y'all only make plays against lousy special teams units?

I am salivating at the thought of Tennessee's defense now that JRM and Killa Cam are back. Gaulden should be a shoe in at nickel back right?

117. Vanderbilt
128. Bowling Green

Hu, interesting.

Yes I think Sutton, Martin, Moseley, Osborne (in that order) are your outside guys with Gaulden as the clear top inside guy who as Prof said could move to safety if they need him to. Foreman can probably play either outside or inside and Sutton should be able to move around more next year as well.

He barely missed a 2nd earlier in the game

I was shocked when I looked at their stats before the game and saw their kicker only kicks it into the endzone on like 30% of kicks. I can't remember a team we played all season whose kicker didn't kick every ball into the endzone almost every time. I thought that was just a given these days.
