He's still the decision maker though. Blame it on separation and all, but he's choosing where he throws the ball.

Looks like he's doing a pretty damn good job of it, too. If someone said they weren't impressed, they'd be lying.

He had a nice one down field on the 2 minutes drill drive, too.

He did well throwing to a receiver that didn't have a defender around him for 10 yards

Seriously, I'm not hating. But he hasn't looked spectacular. Very average stats, a few VERY poor passes, and a couple near picks in the endzone.

His offensive line is trash though. I'll give you that for sure.

They might give him reps with the 1st team next week. He's clearly the better option at QB already. He brings a lot more to the table.

What has he done that's been impressive? Honest question. Not flaming... he was the #1 overall pick and will likely start for an NFL franchise. Impressive would be 10-13 for 150+ yards, and a TD.

5-13 for an 8.2 yard per catch average is not.

No. Just because the DB got one hand on the ball, while diving, to swat it away doesn't mean it was almost picked off.

BTW everyone sees what you're doing in here.

For his first preseason game as a rookie

Yes. That's impressive. 5-13 ain't. Doesn't matter how you spin it. It certainly isn't ALL his fault... but there's no way to turn 5-13 for 8.2 yards per reception into an "impressive" stat.

Number one overall pick and likely starter for an NFL franchise... nothing impressive about his performance so far, aside from his ability to make the first guy miss when he's trying to avoid a sack.

I still don't think I've seen anyone - on any level - better at doing that than he is.

Again, if those two players had caught those passes, he'd be 7-13 for about 200 yards. That's pretty impressive being that he's transitioning from Auburn's offense to a Pro offense. Also, take into account there's been a lockout and this is his first game.

Neither of these are true. The two passes to the endzone were thrown where the defender had to dive just to get a hand on it even though the receiver had no separation. They weren't bad throws at all. He has thrown maybe one very poor pass.

You're right. I should probably change that to say a few very poor decisions. Those aren't throws you try to force when you're in the redzone.

Only one really bad pass I suppose.

I'm trying to engage in a serious discussion. Feel free to join and provide some sort of rebuttal - as TT and a few others are doing, or continue using stupid emoticons and one word responses and add nothing to the conversation... either way is fine by me.

Dude, he has done well. He is playing with the 2nd team offense. He isn't going to put up retarded numbers. Nobody here is saying he was amazing. let it go.

You've been repeatedly and intelligently rebutted.

And your answer to those rebuttals is inevitably sarcasm.

So your avowing of "serious discussion" is ridiculous on its face.

You are here for one reason and one reason only... to spin Cam's performance in the most negative way possible.

Don't worry... you don't have to admit it. Because we've already all recognized it.
