He's still eligible at the moment.
This is the kind of stuff that usually doesn't get announced until the NCAA makes a ruling, but because Cam is in the Heisman race, info is leaking out.
Newton won't play until this issue is resolved. That may take the rest of the year.

I'm glad the SEC has the fine upstanding people of Mississippi State to be our moral compass and make sure the others comply with NCAA standards.

Chiz's coaches show should be interesting this evening.

So a bitter former MSU guy is mad because Cam didn't go to Miss St? Wow makes sense. Hell ITAT has been reporting Alabama violations for three years now, where's the investigation?

Is this one of those "God things" Chizik talked about?
The cash that showed up on Newton Sr's doorstep was an "Immaculate Transaction"...

From the ESPN article:
quote:
"We have been made aware of the allegation. Unfortunately, we cannot comment at this time," Auburn assistant athletic director, media relations Kirk Sampson said. "However, Cam Newton is eligible to play football at Auburn."
He hasn't been declared ineligible YET. It may be coming soon though.

If you can't see the writing on the wall then you need your eyes examined...... He is just upset he didn't get to see the awesomeness of Cam Newton.

Why do we care who reported?
I mean we all laughed when Spurrier called out Kiffin
We all think it is funny when another coach rats out another over violations
If he took the money then it was a violation and should be punished, simple as that.

I question the validity of the story right now. Finebaum just said that the SEC office was notified during Newton's recruitment. If the SEC office had known this was going on, surely they would have investigated it then.
