Is there something I am missing, I read the article and all i saw that there might have been a deal with State but it didn't happen.

of course they would if they felt they had covered their tracks well enough. keep telling yourself of the happy place, but Sea Bass is still comin'.

Does this mean the Aubarners will now direct their rage at Urban Meyer instead of Nicky Saban?
P.S. This proves nothing other than Meyer hopes the allegations are true and doesn't want AU making the entire SEC look bad by pulling a U$C on steroids.

That is exactly what Urban Meyer would do. LSU fans remember the recruitment of Terrance Toliver and Patrick Peterson and Urban Meyer's childish behavior when he couldn't get them. He holds a major grudge and never hesitates to affect a player detrimentally if he thinks it is warranted.
That tells me that there is likely something to this and others wanted to just move on. But, with the Patrick Peterson incident, Meyer was proven wrong, so he might be wrong here, too.
Who knows?

it points to the brokering of his services and that he ended up somewhere where a price was probably agreed upon......we'll see how well they covered their tracks.

From when Cam left UF-
Maybe Urban released Cam with the understanding that he had his blessings to end up at MSU and when the Newton's chose AU, Urban wondered what was up.

Sophomore quarterback Cam Newton, who has had a tough season after facing legal trouble, has decided to find a new home at an undisclosed Texas junior college, his father, Cecil Newton, told the Sentinel. Numerous factors played into the decision to leave, Cecil said, including playing time and the search for a fresh start after a November arrest for allegedly stealing a student’s laptop and throwing it out of his dorm window. The departure of Dan Mullen to Mississippi State also attributed to the decision, Cecil said.

Yeah, the boys at Auburn have been so clear-headed in the past.
Never been on probation or anything.

If it's proven that Rogers solicited payment with the blessing of the Newton family, then Newton will be ineligible. Even if money was only solicited from State. It all hinges on whether the NCAA can prove that Rogers was truly representing the Newtons and that the Newton knew Rogers was asking for money and gave their consent or knew and didn't object.
But it remains just allegations for now...

IT IS A CONSPIRACY!
Rumors:
Urban went by the code name Deep Throat.
Mullins went by the code name Quazy.
Bond went by the code name 007.
