I'll say this. If I'm AU, I don't let anyone from Yahoo within 50 miles of campus or Cam. Let ESPN do their softball reporting

**Official Cam Newton investigation thread**
1. Auburn already has 4 scholarship QB's, why would they pay for a fifth.

2. Trooper Taylor, recruiting coordinator, would never allow a program to pay a high profile player and potentially tarnish his name

3 Cecil is a fundamentalist minister, I just don't buy that he was shopping his son.

Lol it's about Cam Newton. Why do you think the NCAA requested financial records, bank statements, etc. from Cecil Newton?

Oh how bout Cecil's comment, "if mr Rogers solicited money he did it without our knowledge".

Yeah right. If that was me and my son, and someone made claims like that against him when he was innocent, I'd sue their arse so fast their head would be spinning.

And my official statement would be, "I'm gonna whip someone's arse, blee dat".

This shouldn't have any impact on LSU, unless

LSU were to trip up Bama this weekend....now that would be funny, I don't care who you are....

So if Auburn goes under, do the Barners blame State like the Bammers blammed Fulmer?

Will do.

Here's a good one:

Meet Cam Newton's Father, Cecil Newton
by Andy Hutchins

If Cam Newton is at the center of an NCAA investigation regarding his eligibility, his father may be just slightly off-center.

Cecil Newton is mentioned in ESPN's report on the investigation as the pastor of Holy Zion Center of Deliverance in the Atlanta suburb of Newnan, Georgia. That church doesn't return many results, but a condemned building the church has used has been part of an ongoing squabble over its destruction, and Bishop Cecil Newton shows up in news reports about it.

ESPN report has Cecil Newton saying he's met Kenny Rogers, the agent (or "agent") who solicited cash from Mississippi State for Cam Newton's commitment. But Cecil is also important because he reportedly made the decision that his son would play for Auburn.

So Aubarners -- just how social do you think Rogers and Cecil Newton were? Don't you find it kind of fishy that Cecil needed cash to fix up one of his churches or else it would be condemned?

Cam may end up being cleared, but this smells bad, VERY bad. Were I an Auburn fan, I'd pray my team doesn't pull a U$C this year and have their trophy taken away. Because if Auburn somehow runs the table, that is a very real possibility. Whatever chance there was of that happening, I think this is going to blow up so big and be such a distraction that Auburn will lose to Bama and blow their shot at a title run. The War Eagle bandwagon may have hit the mother of all media firestorms...

I also do not understand why a Miss. State Alum would make this up, not like they have a rivalry. If it were coming from a gump alum I would question it.

I think I read in the beginning of the season someone predicted that an S.E.C. team would be on USC type sanctions in 2011, maybe its Auburn?

Will the state of Alabama, in toto, be the most heavily penalized state after the NCAA is finished with Auburn. Probably.

This.

If Cecil Newton is innocent, he needs to pull a trick from Tricky Dick and the Checkers speech and reveal all his finances to the public. Lay it all out there and go on offense. Until he does, everyone will assume he's trying to hide where the money went. Hope he didn't keep it in the freezer!

Not saying its true or not but his church was broke and on the verge of being condemned and destroyed if he didn't make repairs. I'm not saying its true or not but if it was, that could be a big reason why.

I guess I don't pay attention as closely as I should, but I'm shocked that Bama isn't on that list but Miss State is.

But at any rate, GREAT POST molsusports!
