It's not like lsu doesn't have competition and you can't take everyone so..... MS or OM get most of the people they want and need from MS and when they miss they go out of state to pick up guys equal to or even better than the ones the miss on so no this isn't an excuse. LSU has compitition from everyone so it's just like having another big school in state. A&M, Bama, FL, UCLA, Ark, Texas, MS, OM, Tenn, hell even Stanford and Arizona State have been coming into LA a lot lately. Lots of west coast schools are now raiding LA so is all of Texas and you guys add all these schools together and we have just as much compitition as the next state. It's not a secrete anymore and wish it was. We missed on some pretty damn good guys the last 4 and 5 years. Would they have been the difference in national championship? Probably not bc of the QB situation, if that is fixed then no matter if we miss on a couple of not we will be a big time power.

Were you trying to insult Mississippi, or were you just making fun of yourself?

LSU is very lucky to have stepped in to a perfect storm that makes them a national championship contender year in year out.

Lsu is definitely not a national championship contender year in and year out. As evidenced by their 3 national championships in over a century of football.

Mississippi comes in 4th by the way, if we're strictly talking football

• On a per capita basis, the south dominates the NFL numbers. Louisiana leads the way, followed by South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and then Florida.

quote:

Louisiana has a population of 4.64 million and currently has 75 players in the NFL.

The state of South Carolina has produced the highest number of NFL draft picks [per capita] over the last three years. When you look at the overall roster numbers/per capita the Palmetto State checks in at No. 2 with a score of 14.26. South Carolina’s population is 4.77 million and the state has produced 68 current NFL players.

Alabama (13.54), Mississippi (13.38), Georgia (13.1), and Florida (12.92) make up the next four states in per capita scores of all players in the NFL. Perhaps the most telling stat is that the top six producing per capita states are all from the South.

And if we're talking cities...that title currently belongs to sweet home

Also have seen conflicting links regarding Louisiana's current NFL prominence.

The aren't listed here
