Will have to look up now for the exact wording but in NC stand your ground allows you to defend yourself or others anywhere you are allowed to be legally including public places. Last year someone was threatened not far from where I live at a redlight by a homeless person while they were in the car. They used deadly force to rectify the situation.

Russell County is in Alabama. Phenix City is the county seat, across the river from Columbus. Most of the county is south of Phenix city and it touches Lee county, where Auburn is (kind of in the middle).

There is no indication that he has been arrested yet. The police have identified him and are no doubt looking for him. That he is, so far, evading them makes it more likely that when they do find him, we could have a confrontation that ends badly for him.

Learn BJJ or carry a gun. Its as simple as that. I have been in fights sanctioned an in the streets, and it is simply too risky now. I am 33 and it wasn't that long ago that you knock a dude out and you get up and walk away or help the guy get woke up and shake hands after. It isnt the way of the world any more man. Tis a shame.

Getting into a fight with a total stranger unarmed now, considering the strong possibility of the other guy having a gun and willing to use it instead of taking an arse whooping, or getting jumped by their friends if the opponent is in a group or most significantly getting arrested and stuck in the legal system for months possibly years makes it a lose lose situation.
Too many cameras and guns now to not have serious repercussions unless you have no other choice but to defend yourself.

I have two daughters and no son. I will not teach my girls anything but go away. There are way too many psychos on edge right now.
I'd tell my son if I had one to do whatever you have to to defend yourself. Just come home afterwards.
