The changed the venues for series(ie UGA at AU 2 years in a row) and I think they need one more year to rectify that.
ole miss needs to go to Vandy in 2013 and 2014 as well. And Arky will play at Mizzou in 2014 and we'll all be set going forward on the same West @ East schedule I think

Weird. I keep looking for this "Top 6" designation on the SEC website, but nothing comes up.
Try espn.com.
There you will find last year's SEC standings. Six teams won 10 or more games overall and 6 or more in the SEC. Some would have sense enough to realize that those were the top 6. Of course, you ARE a Bama fan, so I guess you get a pass.

The favorite in the SEC was picked to play the worst teams in the SEC should be the name of your thread, nothing else matters

Wow... so ESPN sets the SEC schedule?
Who knew.

The 2012 bridge schedule was the permanent opponent rule buffed up on steroids to pave the way for Bama all the way to the SEC C.G. last year.
Going into the season, Bama was the most balanced team and thanks to the opponent rule, was already set up with a scheduling advantage against LSU. As a result, the decision between the two preseason favorites was already made with the 2008 schedule format.
The first convoy block for Bama was taking Georgia off of their 2008 format schedule; the second convoy block was pitting TAM against Florida for the Aggies first game of the season. Florida conveniently got a warm up game the week before playing the Aggies, and LSU got hosed with their annual road block of Florida plus USC, the pre-season favorite in the East for 2012.
All Bama had to do was follow the SEC designed yellow brick road to the SEC C.G., and it worked like a charm.
Georgia didn't get a chance at knocking off Bama during the regular season; TAM got knocked off by the Florida road block and also fell to LSU; Bama pulled a horseshoe out of their arse and beat LSU with a miracle last drive.
The Aggies beat Bama last year, but the convoy blockade for Bama was too much to overcome. The Aggies now know what it feels like to compete against Bama and the permanent opponent rule like LSU, but they only had it for one season, not every year-- year after year--like LSU gets.
And now you know the whole story.

Why would it make any difference if it was divisional or not?
If it doesn't make any difference, what are you bitching about?

Yes, because everyone thought "That 7-6 A&M team... that's the team we have to make sure doesn't upend Bama."

Are you in a "special" school?
A look at the SEC standings tells you who the top six were. You can find that just about anywhere. Is that too hard for your Gump brain to comprehend?

And especially considering they said last year would be the final year, it just makes things seem fishy. Anybody know how long it took for the PAC or BIG to come up with a permanent rotation?
We never had bridge scheduling. They had a permanent rotation ready for year 1.
But we have 12 teams. The BIG will have 14 starting next year.
