So we'll win 34-7 this season. I can live with that.

So was it just the playcalling or did personnel (or lack thereof) factor in?
Close your eyes and picture this. You're playing Auburn at the end of the year. You win, you go to the SECCG. You lose and Mizzou goes. You're down 4 with under a minute left. UGA has the ball 4th and inches at the Auburn goal line. Next thing you see is Chubb jogging off the field. Jogging on the field is McKenzie, replacing Chubb at RB. Ok, he must be a decoy or something, or they're going to pass the ball. You hold your breath as they snap the ball and to your horror, Schotty has called a power run up the middle with the tiniest guy on your team when you have a player like Chubb in your lineup. Needless to say, McKenzie get laid out for a yard loss. No win over Auburn. Mizzou fans thank UGA for pulling yet another UGA. Now you tell me if it's play calling or personnel.

Regardless, our Red & Black game showed pretty much the same offense we had under Bobo. A pro set, lots of play action, pocket passing, some Power I, etc.
Looked pretty good, actually. I'm not predicting 34-0, but yeah, you're about to get your arse waxed again.
I'll take a 34-0 loss to UGA if that means another chance at a SEC Championship. Can't win it if you're not playing in the game.
And I agree. Y'all will be fine as long as Schotty has no say in what play is called and has no say in what personnel packages are being put on the field. In other words, Schotty will be a fine OC as long as you don't let him be your OC.

Or throwing the ball on the 1 yard line and having it intecepted....twice

I'd say that's something Bobo would have called anyway..see his use of Gurley vs South Carolina
He is a high risk hire...true enough...only time will tell...but neither on of you fu#kers know with certainty how it will play out...and quit acting like you're concerned...it's good for you if he is abysmal...this whole discussion is a sophomoric attempt to hide an insult by pretending to have an enlightened conversation with opposing fans...

Did you keep repeating that "34-0" when you were watching the SECCG on tv?

Lots of people did. Especially as they were wishing for a more competitive SECCG to watch than Mizzou has been capable of giving for two straight years.

UGA's offense has never been about razzle dazzle or scheme. Shott wasn't brought in to overhaul the offense, he was brought in to take over where Bobo left off.
Richt said as much at Media Days.
Shott will be at OC much like Hutson Mason was at QB last year.
Don't get fancy... just don't frick it up.

How bad do you think our o will be?
If Schotty is actually running it... pretty damn ugly.
If Richt keeps the reins and Schotty is OC in name only...decent only because of Chubb.

Considering the talent he worked with, one could argue those scoring ranks are impressive.
Well, we may be saying the same thing about your Dawgs when he sits Chubb on 4th and 1 and puts McKenzie in at RB and runs him up the middle just to get leveled in the backfield.
Richt pretty much lets his coordinators run the o and d, but he will influence the o as always.
So you are expecting a mizzou 2014 level o for Uga?
Can you tell me which game cbs put tavon Austin in to run on 4th and 1?
Posted on 7/25/15 at 7:39 pm to redandblackattack
I'm not hiding anything. I think it was a horrible hire at OC UNLESS he's not you're OC (Richt is) and he's there to land recruits because of his last name.

Don't know if that's why he's at Georgia or not, but it sure has worked that way (so far). He is recruiting lights out. There has been zero let down in recruiting with Bobo leaving which is actually pretty amazing.

keep bringing up the guy being in the NFL as something that we should be impressed about. He was a daddy's boy that was given every possible scenario to succeed. Now he's in college after being on average, one of the WORST offensive coordinators in the league.
You are now reduced to repeating the same weak points that have already been debunked. Come up with something new.

Naw, but if you go back and re-watch every single Rams game, start to finish, you will see plenty of occasions where Austin was used as a power back. With no success. Have fun with that. Advice: Lots of alcohol nearby.

Shott is replacing Mike Bobo.
Bobo has never been accused of outcoaching anyone.
Recruiting is a different matter.
You are talking about coordinating an offense.
Run, run, run/pass
Run, run/pass, run/pass
Run/pass, run/pass, run/pass
It's not rocket science, not at UGA.
Why are you trolling? You're better than this.

Fair enough..and this could very well be the way it plays out,,particularly with CMR's ability to run the offense....regardless...he wasn't hired by mistake or desperation so it was calculated and planned...but your opinion is duly noted...
