Freeman was in over his head, riding Kelly's players to the title game. Kelly would have out coached Ryan Day and won a close dog fight.

To bad for Notre Dame, Kelly moved on to a real challenge, seeking to compete in a real conference like bosses do, not avoiding competition and scheduling Navy every year.

Freeman got father and did better. He has 3 playoff wins under his belt. Tho Kelly has an SEC West Championship trophy and Freeman doesn’t.

Brian Kelly was down 35-0 in his only title game appearance, beat three final AP top-10 teams in 12 seasons at ND (Freeman matched that accomplishment in the past month alone), went 0-4 in BCS/NY6 games and went 0-2 against ND’s common opponents this year (A&M and USC). He even had other “big game” gems like losing 41-8 to a decent not great Miami in 2017 and 45-14 to a decent not great Michigan in 2019.

So I’m gonna go out on a limb and say you’re incorrect.

Actually, BK had an undefeated season heading into to the NC game.
