You’re right, my bad. I would have to go back 10 years for us to have more CWS appearances ‘12, ‘15, ‘18, ‘19 vs. ‘13, ‘15, and ‘17. Should have done my homework. Thanks.

BallsEleven just linked one of them where a couple LSU posters mentioned it. I wasn't the only one that thought they were serious, bud.
But go ahead and throw your big poster balls around. I'll let you have it.

Huh?

Excellent user name, though. Another in the long line of solid cheeky Hog user name puns.

Mack Brown would be more apt IMO

Yea, that one definitely works. The thing is, as noted, LSU post-2009 hasn't even been post-2009 Texas bad/average. They've been good. They've even been really, really good some years.

O'Sullivan falls through, Dave Van Horn is next on the list?
If we wanted a guy who choked in Omaha we would have just kept Mainieri. And Mainieri actually has skins on the wall

Yeah, I do think the job swallowed him up a little bit. Once a few years ago a local reporter caught him with TD up on his office computer

See above , we’ve had 4 shots to your 3 in the past 10 seasons?! How’s this difficult for you?

I didn't realize he'd had health issues, too. Guy has been around a long time, have to imagine a job as stressful as LSU really does just wear you down at that point.
He seems like a great dude. Glad it all ended semi-amicably.

Oh now you went back 10 seasons lol. Why not 20? 30? Doesn’t fit your narrative? GTFOH ! Lol

Two neck surgeries. One in Dec '19 and the other in Nov '20. He said he was miserable in the dugout before and he obviously was after.

LSU is the premier job in the sport. It also comes with by far the most intense pressure, almost exponentially more than a whole lot of other really good programs.
I look at it a lot like our football job or the Kentucky basketball job with the pros and cons (depending on who you talk to). Not just anyone can go to a place like that and be successful. It takes a lot more than being a good coach and recruiter. You have to have supreme confidence in yourself and your methods, or else you'll start questioning yourself the first time you lose a Tuesday night game to McNeese and then lose 2 of 3 at home to Georgia and everyone wants to run you out.
O'Sullivan and Vitello seem to have that make up. However, neither has been the boss in a job anything close to what the LSU job is, so you never really know until they do it.

Well hell, LSU has made the postseason more times than Arkansas in the past 5 years.

Watching this press conference is sad. Saying he’s been having tons of headaches and neck pain due to stress of the game while holding back tears.
Seems like a good dude, hope he starts feeling better.

It’s very much like that. Bertman built this program and expectations to the highest level, and mediocrity is unacceptable. I’m hoping for Vitello but he doesn’t seem to fit the mold of Woodward hires . So I believe we end up with O’Sullivan but who knows. Someone will hit the lottery with Vitello and it won’t be Tennessee.

Excellent post. LSU will melt either way, but there will be risk in either because it is a different animal in BR.
