Here we go where all the retards that are fans of teams with 3 titles or less, literally everyone but Bama in the SEC, claim everything is fake. Bama has 13 legit championships and that's plenty and way more than any other team anywhere.

That is The crux of the whole argument.

If any other fan suggests you have 13, the bama melt brigade comes in hot calling you a jealous turd and that they have 17 but deserve 20+.

It’s truly unique. It’s why I love this bar.

So, what you’re saying is Alabama didn’t finish as UPI #1 in 1973 and AP #1 in 1978? Keep the fun going SOJ!

Since the pools were standardized, after WWII, Alabama only counts the NC won using that system. That does not mean that Alabama had not won NC before WWII it just was under a different system.

It is not Alabama fault that they have been good to great since the 1920's

Let me preface this by saying that the BCS, started in 1998, was the best thing that happened to college football. It forced the top 2 teams to play each other in their final game of the season. Prior to that, the conference bowl alliances most often kept fans of the sport from seeing the top 2 teams play each other in the final game. As a matter of fact, from 1936 to 1997, the AP No. 1 and 2 teams only faced off in bowl games 11 times. This is where the phrase Mythical National Champion comes from.

Therefore, I contend that, prior to the first BCS Title game in 1998, if the top 2 teams at the end of the regular season did not face off in a bowl game, then we will never know if the team that was arbitrarily awarded the title that season was really the best team. For the purposes of my argument, I will use the AP rankings from 1936 to 1997, and the BCS rankings from 1998 to 2013. Of course, the winner of the CFB playoff, started in 2014, is a legit title winner.

This is the type of ignorant "logic" that has taken college football, a.k.a the greatest sport in the history of the world, and reduced it to the giant cesspool that is every other professional sport.

I have PROVED you pulled 5 out of thin air, you bandwagon riding idiot.

You had ZERO clue about Bama history. You're a sidewalk fan. Never even seen Tuscaloosas, much less the inside of Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Go buy you another Walmart hat and t-shirt.

By the way, speaking of "uneducated". You have never seen a Bama classroom.

In 1973 they played the AP number 1 about a week after UPI gave it to them.

Who won?

Alabama claiming it afterward embarrassed UPI so bad, they quit awarding until after the Bowl game.

In 1978 Bama got beat on the field by what team?

Alabama won the UPI national title with an undefeated record in 1973. Much like 1951 Tennessee and 1950 Oklahoma won both major selectors before the bowl loss.

I know Notre Dame beat Alabama in the 1974 Sugar, and USC beat Alabama o the 1978 regular season, early. Problem is, Alabama won out, Oklahoma lost late, undefeated Penn State lost late, USC would lose in conference play. Put all that into play, Alabama earned their spot back.

Then you know there is no "split championships" between these teams.

Notre Dame is the 1973 NC
USC is the 1978 NC.

End of story.

WTF does it matter to you, you bandwagon idiot.

You didn't go to Bama and you have never even been to a Bama game.

1) I have been to way more than 200 Alabama games, but thanks for asking

2) I have seen Alabama win 3 NCs in person, and Alabama has won more than 3 since then

3) While I do have one of my degrees from the University of Alabama, I HIGHLY doubt you have a degree at all (well maybe an Associates, but that is equivalent to a high school diploma, maybe even less) given your ability (or lack of it) to research

But you keep on trying, maybe one day you will be correct about something (I doubt that as well, but one never knows)
