Your 11 team was MUCH better than 03, especially better than 07... there was a metric shite ton of talent on the field for those two games.

The 2006 team was better than the 2007 team as well. Probably 2005 as well

That list is invalidated due to the fact that 1995 Nebraska isn’t even in the Top 10.

They were the goat. I don’t care what list some retard puts out, 95 Nebraska is the best college football team of all time.

Auburn poster went with a random guy’s ranking because it has them as #1 for 1983.

1971 Nebraska smoked everyone except Oklahoma, which is one of the best teams to not win a national title

If the officials had done their job on that Rodgers punt return the teams would switch positions in this sentence.

Could be.

Either way, I would make the point that 1995 Nebraska greatly benefited from not having to play a prime OU team. The 1971 team is penalized historically for playing a regular season opponent with a pulse.

1995 Nebraska might have had the easiest road to a national championship of all 25 of Osborne’s teams.

1. OU sucked. All they had to do in the Big 8 was beat Kansas and Kansas State teams that Osborne was literally 50-0 against in 25 years. No Switzer or even McCartney to deal with.

2. There was no 1978 Alabama, 1982 Penn State, or 1991 Washington on the OOC schedule. No OOC opponent with more than six wins. Hell, Pacific didn’t even have a fricking team the next year. What a joke.

3. No FSU or Miami with great defensive fronts and coaches who had faced the Nebraska offense multiple times. Instead, they faced a young, finesse, defense optional football team unfamiliar with their scheme.

I don’t know who people think 1995 Nebraska had who would scare any of the best SEC teams of the last 15 years or so.

Tommie Frazier? Great QB. But he was 6’0” 210 lbs. and ran 4.75 at the combine. Not exactly freakish. 2021 Georgia’s 340 lb. NT could run 4.78. Good luck with that and about five other future first round picks on D.

Lawrence Phillips? Got exposed in the NFL. Major league head case. Would you want to bet your last dime on him handling adversity and gaining tough yards against defenses like 2011 Bama or 2021 UGA? I wouldn’t and I bet Steve Young wouldn’t.

No WR or TE even saw an NFL practice field. No ability to stretch the field against an elite defense. 2019 LSU faced a 1st round QB and four 1st round receivers against Alabama and two others on their own team. They would laugh about defending the 1995 Nebraska receiving corps. They faced infinitely better players all the time.

Defense? Guys like Grant Wistrom and Tyrone Williams were good but no one on that D made a single Pro Bowl and all of their LB’s were undersized guys like Terrell Farley and Phil Ellis who would struggle against mammoth offensive linemen.

1995 Nebraska ran through the same ole Big 8 cupcakes for about the 30th straight time in the conference’s last year of existence and a poorly prepared Florida team that lacked physicality.

Overrated.
