Does Middle Tennessee State play Mizzou this year?

Exactly. The good folks in Columbia seem to think Richt is still coaching at Georgia. The days of the Dawgs coming in unprepared are over and so is the Spurrier magic.

It's hilarious to me that you have the few delusional USCe fans, but Auburn fans are the ones who are convinced USCe will beat us. They are still messed up by 28-7.

losing the best LB in the country and 2 RB's who are arguably best in the country will leave some holes. Only the second game of the season too.

could have said the same thing in 2002 except replace Richt's name with Jim Donnan. It's ok to have optimism, but Kirby has not done enough to warrant the arrogance UGA fans have showed lately. Maybe let him have more than one successful season before crowning UGA. Richt had equally impressive seasons as Kirby did last year in 2007 and 2012. Y'all lost a lot of really good players from last year's team. It wouldn't be entirely shocking to see UGA take a step back this year.

Agree with all of this.

Because UGA is the only team that lost players from last years team right?? And landing one of the best classes of all-time won't help a bit. Might as well give up and admit defeat to the big bad Gamecocks. Just admit it, you are HOPING UGA loses because you're scared.

That makes no sense. I hope you lose to shut you the frick up for a few weeks.

Scared of what? South Carolina probably wins.

If you're relying on your incoming freshman class, then that's probably not a good thing.

Don't be silly. I'm sure they've got a ton of 18 year old freshmen that will fill those shes by the 2nd week, on the road with zero dropoff. They definitely got that one in the bag

We really didn't lose much talent.

Offense will be better this year and MLB position is the only downgrade.

OL, DL, QB, RB, CB, DB, WR and TE are all in tact and deep.

This is a different animal than Richt's teams.

This is the biggest difference that is being overlooked by everyone. Oh yea, we are also bringing in more talented recruits than Richt did to boot.

It could get ugly for a while in the EAST for other teams.

We beat every SEC team by something like an average of 30 points per game. sick

I can imagine a whole lot, too....But Mark Richt ain't in charge here any more. Last season should have been the memo to the conference that things are a lot different in Athens now.

You misspelled Tennessee. But then again, that wouldn't be an upset.

Who knows if UGA will lose or not. But to assume you will win every game just because you are better is not guaranteed. Remember, better Bama teams that won National titles, 11,12,15, and 17 all lost a game.

Not really. Won the conference in 2002, but didn't play for it all because he Richt-ed up the Florida game that year...In 2007, he Richt-ed up the SCAR and Tennessee games...didn't play for the title, although they were impressive the last 6 weeks of that year. In 2012, he Richt-ed up the SCAR game, and his only chance to play for the Natty by not spiking the ball vs. Alabama in the SECCG.

Good seasons, sure....but all ended in relative disappointment. The biggest thing to remember is that UGA returns a lot of last year's o-line...and the o-line is always the catalyst for success.
