Kenny graduated with a degree in Economics and David has a degree in Sociology.... Yea I know....

Maybe not the most difficult degrees to get at Auburn but they both graduated.

This is a link to a message board that has a link to a now-defunct article. But the article itself is pasted at the link below:

https://www.sectalk.com/board/topic/28982-overcoming-adversitydavid-and-kenny-irons/

quote:

Through it all, both were successful and popular players at Auburn, laughing all the way. Kenny had a breakout season in 2005, rushing for 1,293 yards, the fourth-best single-season total in Auburn history. He was named the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Year. David spent two seasons as a lockdown cornerback. Both earned Auburn degrees.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Irons

quote:

After moving on to Auburn in 2004, David again injured his knee in pre-season practice and did not play in the Tigers' undefeated season. He was able to return and start in eleven games in 2005 and was named to the AP All-SEC Second-Team with 48 tackles (36 solo, 12 assists) and 11 pass break-ups. Due to his knee injuries, Irons applied for and was granted an additional year of eligibility by the NCAA. He had already graduated with a Bachelors of Arts, but began coursework towards a Master's Degree in the fall semester of 2006 to maintain his eligibility. Prior to the 2006 season, David was named to the Coaches All-SEC First Team and the Jim Thorpe Award Preseason Watch List. Irons finished the regular season with 39 tackles (22 solo, 17 assists), 11 pass break-ups and two interceptions and was named to the Coaches All-SEC Second Team.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenny_Irons

quote:

Though his senior campaign was at times impressive, the injuries he suffered severely hampered his efforts and he fell short of his hoped for production. For the season, he had rushed 198 times for a total of 941 yards and 4 touchdowns, while leading the Tigers to an 11-2 season record. Perhaps more importantly Irons graduated from Auburn University with a degree in economics.

Yeah, you're right.

Someone on a message board FOUR YEARS AGO was purposely posting INACCURATE information just so there would be evidence to provide plutonium today.

OH NOEZ! YOU CRACKED THE CODE!

Well I can't say Tidefans is any better, but what absolutely 100% confirmed for me that they have sick fricks there(keep in mind I'm not talking about ALL of them) was the day I saw one say that he wished the tornado had wiped out all of Tuscaloosa and every Bama fan there. Now several fans jumped on his arse in a heartbeat, but 2 others supported his statement. I thank God that not every auburn fan is like that. Anybody that thinks like that needs their arse kicked

I think MOST logical folks know that neither school has a lot to brag about. Using the NCAA database as THE resource you find the following for FOOTBALL ONLY.

Auburn with 5 (1993, 1980, 1979, 1958, 1957)
Alabama with 4 (2009, 2002, 1995, 1964)
AUBURN BIAS VIEW: 1980 was just a continuation of 1979 and no additional sanctions were given.
BAMA BIAS VIEW: 5 is MUCH worse than 4.

So how do we judge, the severity of the penalties would seem to be good start, but it is difficult to compare a TV or Bowl Ban from 1958 to today (not a lot of TV games in 1958). But here are a few statistics.

Scholarships Lost (Total)
Auburn 1993 (3)
Alabama 2002 (21)
Alabama 1995 (13)

Forfeited / Vacated Seasons

Auburn 0 Bama 4

MODERN DAY
Bowl Bans
Auburn 4 Bama 2

TV Bans
Auburn 3, Bama 0

Just spelled it the way he said it....Like aubrun and former great coach ralph "shug" jurdan.

BTW: Carnell said he would return for his senior season so he could gaduate and earn his degree, how did that go for him?
And yes I miss the ATPB because it was fun jerking the chains of the barner lemmings

Not true again, but if you insist, you can add 2 more years for Auburn (2004 Basketball and 1991 basketball and tennis) and 1 more for Bama (1999 for Basketball)... Of course then you have to add the teams on probation (17 at Alabama currently on probation, etc.)..

Involved Sports:
Football, Baseball, Women's Softball, Women's Gymnastics, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Men's Golf, Women's Golf, Men's Swimming, Women's Swimming, Men's Tennis, Women's Tennis, Men's Track, Indoor, Men's Track, Outdoor, Women's Track, Indoor, Women's Track, Outdoor, Women's Soccer, Women's Volleyball

Do you really want to play that game?
So total teams placed on probation...
Alabama 21, Auburn 8... Does that make you fell better?

Bottom line is YES Alabama has had its issues with the NCAA over rules violation but as a barner dont come on here all smug like your team is as clean as the driven snow. Most barners blame Alabama for all of their NCAA problems yet they caused them, not Alabama or other teams.
