That Bret is bragging about this guy is just plain sad.

I see a slight brag and more of a middle finger to the recruiting services

It's nice that bert is able to find players and put them in their more natural position that they'll play in the NFL

Getting star-less recruits...seems like Arkansas really is a destination job for Bielema.

I always give Saban credit for the recruiting mindset he brought to LSU. Getting those 3, 4 and 5 stars who were academically eligible. Players that you can count on making it to campus (not JUCO) and making early contributions to the team.

Looks like Alverez wouldn't take Maragos and Bert would once he became head coach

Bert doesn't waste time with crap like recruiting stars. He can turn these kids into winners by sheer force of will.

After all, he doesn't want to be like the SEC in any way, shape or form...and that includes getting top recruits.

he could recruit them, but Alvarez had final say. just as all head coaches do.

kind of like chizik was the leader of recruiting efforts when malzahn was OC

Doubt it

Bert wanted many of the assistants that left wisky when he was head coach, but Alvarez wouldn't let him have them.

So you are saying Alvarez deserves all of the credit for any success Wisconsin had while Bert was HC?

Good luck with that. We like to go with the "Run the ball until it starts working, then pass on every down" offense.
