ETA: The "meddling" developments are very interesting, indeed.
It at least signals that Chizik isn't as passive of a CEO type as we all thought he was. That could be good or bad, but who knows if it was his meddling that made our offense suck, or if it was just our inexperience.

So everyone that has spoken at a church who puts its services online is a public figure. Don't be a dumbass. She isn't a public figure.
If she's up there as the highest-paid assistant coach's wife talking about childhood illiteracy, or canned food drives, I'd agree with you. She shouldn't be ridiculed for anything embarrassing.
But she got on a stage and started airing out all the first-hand points-of-view, in the context of being the coaches' wife, in a public setting, to a crowd. Fair game.

This isnt that hard.
She is not a public figure. (Not sure what that has to with anything)
She should not have run her mouth.
The bama grad who edited the original youtube video is a loser. And when it comes to the Auburn v. Alabama rivalry is probably a fair representative of the bama fanbase.

I don't disagree that she made a terrible appearance in a public setting. I merely pointed out that one aspect of what a poster said about her being a public figure was wrong.

FWIW, this video was a bit different that the the Fark board. This guy wasn't making a parody as he claims, he was just trying to make Kristi (and Gus and AU by association) look as bad as possible in a somewhat (though not totally) misleading way. Mission accomplished. People made a big deal about it for some reason.

I don't even see how this makes him a loser.
Anyone who saw the unedited video would have immediately known the shite storm this would have caused online. Just look at the video again; it's obvious, viral gold. So why not put it online? If he didn't, someone else would've. That's how going viral works. And now we're talking about him and not someone else, not that I even remember his name.
It was posted because it was something people would want to talk about. That much is obvious. I would think this would be understood on an internet message board, of all places. She has only herself to blame.
And it wasn't a church service. It was in the middle of the week, they sold tickets, and were probably gonna sell the interview after that.

If you think the wives of the football coaches at Alabama and Auburn are not public figures then I can't help you. Many of them chose to stay out of the public eye, but that does not mean they are not public figures.
Why do auburn fans act like they would not be all over Terry Saban or Kirby Smart's wife if they had done something similar? It was funny and made the lady look bat arse crazy. That shite would have been all over youtube.

So a head coach giving orders to his coordinators is "meddling"?
Control-freak Nick Saban must be the biggest fricking "meddler" in the world then!
I think Chizik did the right thing in forcing Malzahn to slow it down for the sake of the D. But there seems to be this idea that Saban runs off his coordinators with constant meddling and paternalism while Chizik lets his coordinators do their job. Seems that is not the case considering 1.2 million Gus was not happy with Chizik's interference in his job.

How is posting a video of her own words misleading? No one cares or is talking about the edits he made. It's all about the inappropriate comments she made. This "edited" defense is hilarious.

Agreed. The "meddling" may not have been a bad thing, considering the offense needed to slow down, but it seems it may have played a role in Gus deciding it was time to go as well. As another poster hypothesized the other day on here, I think Chizik may be getting tired of everyone assuming he is not in charge and is starting to put his own stamp on the program more with the collateral he has built up from a BCS ring.

But I'm betting that HEAD Coach Gus Malzahn of Arkansas State University won't hesitate to "meddle" with his defensive coordinator if he feels the need. Do you agree?

You get the point. You didn't know Kristi Malzahn's name off the top of your head either until this happened. They aren't public figures, they are married to public figures. Had her interview not been spliced together and gone viral you still wouldn't know who she was.

Gotcha. Anything an Alabama fan does regarding Auburn is just fine.
Something tells me,though ,if the situation were reversed you'd have a problem.

Agreed. In a public setting she made negative comments about players, fans, and recruits. They have a right to respond.

You don't understand what a public figure is. It's not a matter of opinion.
