The number should be 43 and 41 are track or cross country.

yes it is convenient for programs that are certified dumpster fires at the moment. it's all they got.
plus, Arky really has nothing to brag about in football either since about the 60s so yeah, it is okay.

it just says that in 1991 they felt like bringing you in. that still doesn't take away the fact that for 20 years you were so irrelevant you weren't in a conference. That wasn't a "We're Notre Dame so we're too good for a conference" sort of situation.

Let me finish that for you. This is the part where you say one regular season game doesn't matter, the overall program is what's important.
Then I bring up baseball, and you say you beat us last weekend in our own house.

Maybe since USC only has one conference title the Gamecock football department just got tired competing in organized conferences.
