Best - LSU 04 - I knew we were gonna get railed. Started drinking very early. We had the hook up down there. Parked at the hotel and got a limo to the game. Like I said we had the hook up.
It was relatively warm when we left Alabama. I was freezing that night though and bought some cheap jacket. It was about 2 sizes too big, but me and my buddy smuggled in 14 beers.
We sat right in the middle of the endzone with the top deck. A lot of LSU fans and they became our best friends. I basically spent the night taking shots, talking about how good the food was, how hot the girls were, and bashing every coach named Mike that coached at Alabama and swapping beers for shots. Met a girl from Chalmette. Fell in love for like 6 or 7 hours.
Worst - LSU 04 - Went home with said girl. Cuddled. Yes, cuddled. Had to walk about 2 1/2 miles back to the casino because the limo dropped us off at her house. This was pre storm, but walking thru Baton Rouge at night, by yourself, wasn't cool back then either. Luckily, the sun started to creep up and even the gang bangers had gone to sleep. Then a five hour ride back to Tuscaloosa with no shower, a terrible headache, and a awesome set of blue balls. Not too mention three more years of Mike Shula to endure.
It's still by far and away my favorite trip.

common misconception. Most tech alumni actually end up working for the UGA alumni. Tech alumni are engineers, UGA alumni are the contractors, managers, business executives. Doesn't mean Tech alumni don't get paid more, but the hierarchy isn't what Tech fans exactly like to think it is

I had a very interesting experience at the Rose Bowl against Ohio State.
Before the game, all of the Buckeye fans were great. Now, they are huge jersey wearers and they are a little "square" and old fashioned, but hey...it's the midwest. That was to be expected. All in all, they were great. Young, old, college aged, didn't matter. They were overly friendly and out having a good time mixing with all of the Oregon fans.
After the game, it was a whole different story. You would have thought that they just beat Michigan in the BCS National Championship game. It's like they had a personal vendetta against Oregon and we were one of their most hated rivals. They weren't even acting excited about the win. They just wanted to start shite and tear things up. They went out their way to personally insult, talk shite, toss beer cans at, etc. to Oregon fans. It was definitely a weird experience.

Best - 2006 @South Carolina - Columbia is always a blast, been three times. It definitely doesn't get enough credit on this board. We had a huge tailgate going, roasted whole hog, Carolina honey mustard based BBQ Sauce, went through an ungodly number of kegs. Was a great game that could have gone either way.
Worst - I've been to Oxford, Athens, Starkville, Columbia, and Tuscaloosa and have never had a bad trip.

Truly sorry to hear about the 2003 experience.
LSU has an element that thinks this kind of behavior is expected and the "cool" thing to do.
This element has been giving us a bad name for decades. It is a group that wants everyone to think LSU has the most faithful fans. I think they just confuse faithfulness with stupidity.

Ok, so "most" may have been used a tad bit liberally here. You do have a valid point, but Tech's management program (while it is a management program and so it is frowned upon by the engineer's at the school) is quite good so they too are in the management positions along with UGA's business majors, but most of the engineering firms that would be hiring said contractors would hire tech grads for their firms. We really just end up going in circles here I'm afraid.

I should add that I've never had a good time in Knoxville or Oxford.
First time I went to Knoxville in 2000, I asked somebody where to go out and they sent us to O'Charleys. I thought she was full of it so I asked a couple of other dudes and they said O'Charleys.
I thought it may have just been the name of a bar or something, but no it was a legit O'Charleys. We went. It sucked.

Best
South Carolina @ Ole Miss 2008
good times, good win... hence why I came to grad school here
South Carolina @ Auburn 2010
we lost, but fans were awesome.
I've enjoyed everywhere, except (see below)
Worst
South Carolina @ Florida 2008
my friends wanted to go on a camping trip as well as the Florida game. It rained, it was cold, we lost 56-6. We got Tebowed. I wasn't let in for the game for being too drunk. SORRY for partying.

That OCharley's was before my time, but supposedly it used to get crazy on Gameday's. It was where Tin Roof is now.

Before mine as well, the only one I have been to was in Maryville and it was shite. Tin Roof is a much better choice to have on the strip IMO.

I'll be honest...I'm a little disappointed that nobody has mentioned piss balloons, punching old ladies in wheelchairs, or crackin' 7 year olds in the back the head with pool cues when talking about LSU. I mean...we have a reputation to uphold people.

I've never had a bad experience except in oxford but that's because I've been so many times and you're gonna run into a couple of assholes at some point anywhere.
Best
Probably LSU this past year. We hit up the bars for a long time before the game. It was fun getting raw with all the coonasses and everyone was really nice and really just wanted to get to know you and shoot the shite. It's also very fun to watch Ole Miss lose on TV with a bunch of tiger fans and bulldogs. Then we walked around the tailgates. Nobody was threatened by us cuz LSU owns our arse so everyone was very hospitable. Then I met a bunch of people from the Real World and they drank my beer. The End.

2007 @ Arky - Night game, tailgated in some UA employee's yard with a ton of Hog fans. Heard all the scoop on the douche bag QB y'all had, how they wanted Kodi Burns to come back to UA...lol. Everybody shared food, whiskey and just generally had a great time. Honestly, all of my trips to Fayetteville have been good.
Worst
I've never really had a "bad" experience at any of my away trips, however, if you frick with my kids I tend to get angry...
2009 @ Knoxville - My daughter was 8 at the time and had only been to games in Auburn and at Tuscaloosa. She thought it was really cool how if she saw an Auburn person and said "War Eagle" they would say it back to her. After the game and eating on the strip, we were walking back to the car and this fat chick in heels is walking towards us with an Auburn shaker. My daughter says "War Eagle" and the girl tells her to go frick herself she "ain't no Aubarn fan". I completely came unglued, and honestly believe that girl is still crying after what I said. Not my proudest moment, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

So you bring up a completely irrelevant conversation to feel better about how sad techs fan base is? Not to mention this isn't daddy's job environment, you'll see plenty of tech grads going to work for a bulldog.

HMMM I'd have to say Arky last year. Just like on this board most of the pig fans really took it personally. Amazing what big dicks they were even after they won. I really don't get giving fans shite after they lose.
Best
Probably State in 07, for the most part no one had a chip on their shoulder and it was good times.

Worst: LSU 2009
Went to New Orleans and got shite stolen out of my car in the guarded parking lot of our hotel. Still to this day think the hotel staff did it b/c they told me to basically frick off when I asked them anything about it. It should be noted that once we got the frick out of New Orleans and went to BR I had a fantastic time. Tailgating was a blast, but the 31-10 loss wasn't.
Best: OM 2010
Had a great time at the grove. It wasn't really what I was expecting but it was awesome nonetheless. everyone was very nice and offered food, drinks, etc. We got there early and set up a great spot which helped as well. I liked the bars in Oxford that I went to (though that cover charge is a bitch). Also found a full whiskey/coke on a trip to the bathroom at halftime during the game
