were you at the game? we were outnumbered easily.

Yes- when they all cleared out during the trophy presentation, you could see we outnumbered them clearly.

I sat in the student section in the bottom left corner and my family sat in a Texas section with a bunch of other Bama fans. Maybe from where you were sitting it looked like they had more people there, but that's just not the way I saw it. After all the crap they talked about how they were going to own the stadium, i was hardly impressed. For a state with 6x more people than Alabama and a school 2x as big, they sure didn't look it.

There were at least 20,000, maybe 25,000 Bama fans there in 2000.

I was there. It didn't seem like that many, but it was 10 years ago. We shocked the Oklahoma folks in 2002. We have over 10,000 there. The RV Army really shocked them.

I don't think Bama fans outnumbered us. It was about 50/50. I was very surprised that Bama travelled so well, simply because the economy was in the crapper at the time.

I know a lot of UT fans who didn't go because it was so expensive, and because many of them had gone back in 2005. UT brought a lot more fans to Pasadena in 2004 and 2005 than we did last year.

I would say the Rose Bowl was about 50/50 as well. When I arrived at the airport in LA I thought it was at least 75/25 TX, but when I got in the game it was about 50/50. I was also in the SWA terminal and SWA is very popular in TX, so that could have had something to do with it.

I also went in 2000 and I heard the numbers were about 30,000. Either way, there were TONS of Bama fans across the country for a regular season bowl game. The true test of how you travel is how many show up for games that are far away. Ie, LSU in Omaha, nobody comes close to that.

They have to travel such far distances to go to to other schools in their conference. No way they are in the top tier

How does this not make sense? If you are closer to the game, you are more likely to travel??

Carolina took about 40,000 fans to the Papa John's Bowl . . .

. . . unfortunately, I was one of them.

In the SEC, I believe LSU, UGA, and UTK travel the best. UGA had a ton of fans travel to Tempe a couple years ago. I was there with about 25,000 other faithful. I'll be heading to Boulder this year if I can get around to it. I suspect there be tons of red in the stadium as well.

Legion Field hadn't been than full since Alabama played it's last game there in 2003. UAB needs to drop football. It's just sad at this point.

Nebraska brings a ton for football.

They have one of the coolest fan bases in college football. Easily my favorite outside of LSU.

Also had many in Memphis for the Liberty Bowl, filled out our side and had many on Houston's side (I was one of them) I went to the Outback Bowl 2 years ago, not so many Gamecock fans there.. the way they played in that game was exactly why I didn't go to the bowl game last year.
