Meanwhile Derrick Henry holds the SEC rushing record, did it on fewer attempts, did it against better competition and lead his team to a national championship.

PLAYER RUSHING YARDS SEASON
1. Derrick Henry, ALA 1,986 2015
2. Herschel Walker, UGA 1,891 1981
3. Darren McFadden, ARK 1,830 2007
4. Tre Mason, AUB 1,816 2013
5. Bo Jackson, AUB 1,786 1985
People thought it would be impossible to break Walkers record.

Not as hard as it is to read a stat line. Derrick Henry 2219 yards rushing vs Herschel Walker 1891 yards rushing.

Derrick Henry averaged over 100 yards a game....after contact. 166 average total. 70% of his total yards in 2015 were after contact yards.
And 10 of the defenses he faced were ranked in the top50.

Prove it. If you can’t, you’re just deflecting and have no real argument to stand on.

How many more games in a season did Henry play as opposed to Walker?
I saw Herschel with my own eyes in 1982 when Georgia played State in Starkvegas.
We had a great defense. We shut him down or at least we thought we did. His longest run of the day was 18 yards. But at the end of the game he rushed it 30 times for a buck seventy-five. He was never tackled for a loss and akways fell forward when was tackled.
We lost 29-22 after a late TD by UGA and we were driving deep in their territory and had an untimely fumble that ended the game. Absolutely one of the best games I have ever watched and it was nationally televised by CBS.
Walker/Bo and then the rest.

Henry did it on less carries than Walker.
When Henry broke the record, not counting bowl games:
quote:
Herschel in 1981: 385 carries for 1,891 yards. Derrick Henry this year to this moment: 327 carries for 1,932 yards.
Henry of course would still play more games after that.

OP proves Texas fans are football illiterate. How could someone who knows the first thing about SEC football not include Darren Mcfadden in this discussion.

Correct answer since is specifically for SEC running backs

The fifth grade educated bama fan stated "Derrick Henry holds the SEC rushing record".
Anyone with at least a sixth grade education would understand 'career' rushing yards, not single season. When looking at single season totals, Georgia only played 12 games in 1981 vs 15 games Alabama played in 2015. Also you didn't count the stats from Georgia's bowl game but you did count Alabama's stats.
Plus they both played 3 seasons and Herschel has greater than a thousand yards more than Henry.

Easily. And they are probably best in college football history.

Walker only played 3 years and his bowl stats aren’t in included in his career stats.
He’s the best ever and you all know it!

Did this guy really put Cedric Benson in the same sentence as Bo Jackson, and Hershel Walker?

That’s just simply not true. You made an incorrect assumption.

That’s because they didn’t count bowl game stats in the 80s but we can. With the bowl game (25 rushes for 84 yards) Herschel’s total rushing yards are 410 rushes for 1975 yards. Again, Derrick’s stats are 395 rushes for 2219 yards.
