No to defend the undefendable, but this has been modus operandi for UT fans for half a decade now. Phat Phil or Serraneax will find a stat and troll the board and the rest of the vol fans will line up behind them to have a trolling battle. It's mostly tongue in cheek and harmless, and in their defense, they have been picked on for the better part of 10 years without a whole bunch to celebrate. They aren't bad folks.
But you are correct that most baseball threads are nice and civil seeing how even the best teams get their arse handed to them on occasion. An maybe the Vols will fall in line (doubtful) and have legit baseball discussions rather than this type of guerrilla posting, but it also makes for some fun times when their team spits the bit, so it's a trade off.
