Kyle Field - mostly erector set
Tiger Stadium - 100% concrete pour (immensely stronger)
I would argue that one. Our saw swaying would frick a pure concrete structure up, like a overpass in Cali during an earthquake. The erector set has some give at least.

Capacity
Kyle Field - 102,512
Tiger Stadium - 102,321 (-191)
Who cares. They're both huge.
quote:
Suites
Kyle Field - 114
Tiger Stadium - 136 (+22)
We already went over this. Not all suites are created equal. Kyle's are the elite of elite. LSU's are not.
quote:
Club Seats
Kyle Field - 5,000
Tiger Stadium - 6,700 (+1,700)
You're going to have to help me on this one. A&M has, again, the best of the best when it comes to club area.
quote:
Total Premium Seating
Kyle Field - 6,600+
Tiger Stadium - 32,000+ (+a country mile)
Does Premium = chariback? If it means acess to nicer amenities then I don't think your #s are right.
quote:
Number of exits in stands
Kyle Field - a little
Tiger Stadium - a lot (+a lot)
Not bad, I guess.
quote:
Construction type
Kyle Field - mostly erector set
Tiger Stadium - 100% concrete pour (immensely stronger)
WTF does this have to do with anything? Kyle is 50-50 anyway.
quote:
Special features
Kyle Field - Founder's Suites (12)
Tiger Stadium - Field level seats (a lot more than 12)
The nicest seats at just about any stadium in the world vs bad seats that are field level. This is not a "special feature" These are bad seats that help LSU get to over 100K.
quote:
Looks like a clear, unabridged victory for Tiger Stadium.
Clear that you pic and choose whatever makes you feel better about Tiger.

I'll take concrete pour, tyvm.

You don't know very much, do you? There are at least half a dozen schools with better facilities than Mizzou in basketball.

Thats nothing! A single event? Every freaking quarter we put our structural integrity to the test by making the stadium go in a motion that they were never meant to go in. Old Kyle was famous for this in the sports journalist community. Made people nervous:
quote:
I won't miss the swaying upper deck at Kyle Field. If I wanted an amusement park ride, I'd stop off at Six Flags.

quote:
When fans lock arms by the tens of thousands and sway to “The Aggie War Hymn,” it moves even the cynical sportswriters above.
Moves us a good couple of inches, as a matter of fact.
An unnerved bowl rep once told me that, as an engineer by day, he felt compelled to report that the shifting was a bad sign. He got no argument. Just the same, I relayed assurances that the stadium was inspected every other year.
The rep winced and said, “I sure hope this was the year.”

Hell it made me nervous, I am so glad we redid it.

Agree here.

We already went over this. Not all suites are created equal.
LSU's Tiger Stadium suites hold almost twice as many people as the comparable suites at Kyle. The exception would be the 12 Founder's Suites, which hold two more. Advantage, LSU.

The numbers don't lie. LSU simply has more club seating. DWI.

Does Premium = chariback?
How is this even a question?

It's not a guess.
quote:

You're forgetting the corner towers. So mostly erector set.
quote:

The 12 suites account for less than 1% of capacity. The field seats number a lot more. No brainer.

There's irony for you. Your whole argument involves aesthetics and amenities not available to 99% of the fan base.
As I made clear in my posts before, the vast majority of Aggie fans visiting Tiger Stadium get better seats than they would back at Kyle Field. Better sightlines, closer to exits, closer to restrooms and concessions.
Replacing Kyle Field with a replica of Tiger Stadium would improve the fan experience for 99% of your fans.
Just the facts...

Twice as many? Most of A&M's hold 16-18 people. ANd there you go getting stuck on number of people not what it actually is. LSU's suites are not as nice. There is probably less room per person as well.

Again, you only care about quantity and not quality.
quote:quote:
Does Premium = chariback?
How is this even a question?
Premium - relating to or denoting a commodity or product of superior quality and therefore a higher price.
Because if all you care about is it being chariback then fine. Clearly there is more to it.
Did I mentioned our sound system and TVs crush LSU's? We also have neat little overhands that help keep sound in now. Our exterior is nicer too. Our LED lighting trumps your purple and yellow lights. I'm also willing to bet our bathrooms are bigger. Maybe ytou should do a capacity comparision of those too. You have to have 2 sets of locker rooms because your football facilties are too far fromt he stadium. Ours are apart of it. We have a TV studio build into Kyle that rivals the SECN's (their words, not mine). Should I keep going?

You can repeat opinion then call it a fact as many times as you want, but that doesn't make it true.

I'm stating facts, you're calling it opinion.
Better sightlines, more exits, more suites, more club seating, better construction throughout.
Win, win, win, win, win for Tiger Stadium.

Oops

Yes, your 70's model custom van has more shag carpet seating than our 2015 Escalade.
It must be better

It is. Hence why LSU doesn't have to implode the fricking thing to make it better.

I don't think Tiger is a dumb. It is one of the best stadiums in the SEC. It does do some things better than Kyle. I see it like this. Tiger is a like a Rolex. Its got the always sturdy 904 steel. Its high end. Its timelss. Kyle is like A Lange. Its that next level up of luxury and uniqueness.
