Petrino wasn't ever a real consideration for LSU

This is factually incorrect.

Petrino to interview with LSU

Despite signing a new deal to stay at Louisville, Cardinals Head Coach Bobby Petrino will interview for the head coach position at LSU. The Tiger's position came open this week when Nick Saban announced he was leaving to coach the Miami Dolphins.

ESPN.com's Pat Forde reported LSU asked for and received permission to speak with Petrino, but no one knows for sure when an interview may take place.

UPDATE: Fox Sports is reporting that the interview has already taken place.

Sources: LSU's Bertman met Sunday with Louisville coach Petrino

By Mike Triplett
Staff writer

ORLANDO, FLA. - LSU athletic director Skip Bertman met with Louisville coach Bobby Petrino on Sunday to discuss the Tigers' coaching vacancy, several sources told The Times-Picayune.

Neither LSU nor Louisville officials would confirm the meeting. But Lousiville athletic director Tom Jurich confirmed that LSU asked for and received permission to speak with the 43-year-old coach.

Bertman has not returned phone calls for the past two days, and the school said it does not wish to comment on the specifics of the search process at this time. Bertman's whereabouts were not confirmed Sunday, and it is not clear where the meeting took place.

Oklahoma State's Miles also a candidate

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Louisville coach Bobby Petrino told ESPN's Jill Arrington before kickoff Friday at the Liberty Bowl that while he has talked with LSU about its coaching vacancy, he has not received an offer.

The update confirms little has changed since Petrino acknowledged Tuesday he has met with LSU officials.

"There's no offer on the table," he said then.

Petrino had a better year than Miles, going 11-1 at Louisville and cracking the top 10, but his candidacy at LSU seemed to stagnate during a week of heavy criticism for interviewing for the job less than a week after signing a new contract. Petrino said Saturday that he decided Louisville was where he wanted to be, but the information about Miles' rise at LSU fuels speculation that he was making a strategic retreat because he knew he would not receive an offer.

everyone of LSU's coaches has a conference title and 2 of them have a national title. im not sure we would be #1 but they certainly have accomplished more than Arkansas's. IMO.
