That's not the point. It was hit well enough. After the leadoff single, you get the pitcher who has thrown a 115 plus pitches out of there. So he doesn't risk injury or get the loss (which didn't deserve).

Lmao what about the other 15 pitchers on the staff? Surely someone can come in and get the 2-3 outs against Belmont! If not, we're in fricking trouble.

117 fricking pitches in feb in his 1st or 2nd start is fn STUPID!

HO-LEEE-shite

DVH has our guys on a 60-70 pitch count. Only reason Stanek was left in a little longer is because he had a no hitter going into the 6th.

Right! I was trying to explain this to Al Bundy last week. He don't understand. Apparently neither does Cohen. Fn idiot!

I totally agree but got to find ways to win close, low scoring games when the pitching has done well enough to win it. Bring in another live FRESH arm to close it!
Disagree - it was 1 -0 going into the 9th. Did he have arm left? Don't know. Did Cohen ask him if he had arm left? Don't know. He was far from struggling though.

Any fn competitor will WANT to stay in the game. You've (Coach) has got to have a number in your head early and stick with it or atleast be close to it. That is WAY TOO many pitches for FEB and in his first outing or two. You eventually work up to that point but usually a month or so into the season. Why do you think we have so many arm problems with this staff? It's only going to get worse, with dumb decisions like this.

On another note...at least y'all aren't Auburn basketball

Edit: fuuuuuu forgot they beat y'all last week,,,so my awful attempt at humor was ironic....and non humorous.....back to drinking,,,

I understand he wanted him to get the win. Hell, he had only given up 3 or 4 hits before the 9th

But he gives up a lead off single and that's when Cohen should have went and got him!

I mean if you're only up 1-0 , it's practically a no brainer!

117 pitches in February is the dumbest thing a coach could do.

These games do not mean shite. 1 game in a 56 game schedule is not worth hurting a kids arm.

So why didn't you start bitching when Jones was at 80 pitches instead of when he got the loss? You just wanted to wait until you were right (as in a loss)?

I didn't turn the game on into the 9th inning. I had no idea he was still in the game.

I would HAVE bitched regardless. Ask Al, from last week, we were up numerous runs.

He had only given up 3 hits going into the 9th inning. That first hit in the 9th was a bloop single that the hitter took out of the dirt--it wasn't a bad pitch or a solid hit at all. And the inside the park HR was also a weak line drive that should have been easily caught--it WAS ruled an error, after all.

Other than having a high pitch count early in the season, there wasn't a reason to pull him, and the pitcher didn't really falter at all.

Damn you are clueless. Just wait, when Jones is complaining about his elbow or shoulder down the road.

And looked how it ended up

Now way he should have been in the game after 85-90 pitches. End of story.
