I leave whether or not Arky is a rival to each fan’s own individual opinion. But Tennessee is a rival in any event from football and basketball to Monopoly and Tiddlywinks. It isn’t driven by the competitiveness in any given sport. It’s driven by mutual loathing. If the schools played Red Rover there would be bloodshed. Hopscotch? Someone is gettin’ his arse kicked. Tic-Tac-Toe? More like Tic-Tac-go f*ck yourself.

I dont wanna rival just wanna win. Kentucky is the standard that every team aspires to. Normally if you beat them you've accomplished something. Excluding last year. I respect the fact that when they hired a few bad coaches they were willing to open the check book to get a proven coach. We got lucky with Muss.

When Arkansas joined, they came in hot. They really felt like they were capable of being our actual REAL long term rival, at least as far as basketball was concerned.

Yep, lived it. ‘‘Twas the best of times basketball wise.

On a side- We had tickets to see the first round of the tourney in Memphis in 1995 that we would have almost guaranteed went to had you not beaten us in OT by 2 points in the sec touney championship. Instead, we saw KY. Thanks a lot. Still haven’t forgiven y’all or Pitino for that.
