I'm not sold on Bama's offense yet. They certainly have potential, but they were awfully inconsistent last year. The passing game has to improve this year, and with Julio and Maze a year older and wiser, it probably will.
I think I'll take my chances with an offense that returns 9 starter from a group that produced 32 PPG, and over 400 YPG.

Bammers secondary is gonna get bombed worse than Pearl Harbor this year.
Because all that talent surely isn't up to the task.

At least we didn't lose by 19 in the SEC Championship game.

Alabama's offense is being talked about on this board like it is going to be unstoppable next year. I think that is a bit overconfident if you consider the trouble the offense had last year even with a heisman RB and that great OL.
You mean when we were breaking in 3 new OL, a new QB, 2 new TE's, and using underclassmen as the bulk of our ground game?

We lost one TE, and two OL. One of them was excellent, but fortunately was in a position that is easily plugged. The other OL was just plain replaceable.

And now you have people talking about how dominant Alabamas OL has been like no one has been able to stand against it. Heck, even 7-6 UT gave Bama all they could handle in 2009.
But this unit is not losing anything really irreplaceable. All but one skill position is returning, one of which happens to have won the heisman. All last preseason we were to hear about how Alabama was going to have OL woes on offense. But that didn't exactly pan out for you nay-sayers now did it?

Alabama can AT TIMES, be overpowering. But its not like they just murdered everyone for 2 years.
For the past 2 years, the MO has been to pummel the opposing teams into submission. More often than not, that has been the case. And "overpower" is exactly the term I'd use for the 2009 SEC CG, where Bama just had their way with the "best defense in the SEC." Even if the opposing defense lasts all the way until the last couple minutes of the game, that's still 2 minutes too early.

again.. All I said was that no one has been able to stand toe to toe with Alabama in BOTH years, except LSU. I never said the O-Line hasn't been stopped.

Back in 2004, Saban had a talented, but inexperienced defensive backfield, and David Greene torched them. Saban likes his Cbs on islands, but as someone else mentioned, unless you got the experience, that is a double-edged sword. I think Bama will be a very good football team this year, but there losses on D coupled with Saban's aggressive style will coast them at least 2-3 games.

The three new OL, and new QB in 2009 were suppose to do the same. It seems people would learn from their failed predictions of the past, and just let things unfold.

If the entire defensive unit learns to play as a team then Bama should win the West, if not then it's gonna be a dogfight between Arky, LSU, Aubarn, and Bama.
Maybe they'll learn to play as a unit in their fifth game after hard lessons they learn in the fourth game. =)

I'm glad to see Arkansas fans confident going into this season. I'm also not surprised at the Bama hating by most. I hate to say it because I like Petrino and the hogs but Bama is going to light em up in their own house. Mallet will spend more time on his back or worrying about being on his back than completing passes. They certainly won't have an easy time running the ball so their only chance to beat Bama is for their defense to man up and stuff us cold.......not gonna happen.

So do you two (neutrino & CapstoneGrad06) really believe we won't even score a TD against Bama in Fayetteville next year?
