The rumor is that he will do his Mormon "tour of duty" before college and enroll at Bama when he's around 21.

He's also friends with Dale Murphy.

Here's the 60 Minutes article about American Samoa football:
American Samoa: Football Island
I remember an article in National Geographic many years back that also addressed this topic. Football is almost a religion on that Island and it's a perfect fit for their culture. We're kinda like that too!

Why is he gonna feel out of place? Alabama has had a Canadaian Native American, Naughten McKay Losher' and a Californian Native American, Steve Becigilia back in the day. They had a great time and great careers at Bama. So will this guy.

Bama has had people that you wouldn't normally see like the Native Americans and a Korean (Peter Kim). Just because he's Samoan doesn't mean he wouldn't be able to adjust.

its damn scary that Saban has recruited a US Samoan Islander.

THAT'S national recruiting.

On the other hand, that's one that Kiffin wont get.

Many of their ancestors came to Hawai'i first. Being that there's a large faction of LDS there, it's no surprise. You'll find the vast majority of Samoan players on Pac Ten, and BYU/Utah, rosters.

To be fair, the Alabama staff didn't find him in American Samoa. He's from Southern California, but it's still an impressive get. You rarely see any of these players leave the Pac Ten/Utah area.

Pretty much the same thing nowadays. Anyhow, congrats, that's a good get.

I'm still hopeful for Vili Moala, his cousin Fili Moala played at USC and did pretty well for himself.

Quick Question, are you from Alabama and cheer for the Trojans for whatever reason? Or are you originally from Cali and moved to Alabama?

This. Military. And technically it's Florida but we have a euphemism around here, and call it LA for "Lower Alabama". There's no real sense in why anywhere from South of Dothan to the Perdido is logically in the state of Florida.

I've heard the story several times that the state of Florida tried to sell the panhandle, as far east as the Apalachicola River, to Alabama. The state of Alabama felt that the area, including the beaches, were a bad investment. This was the late 1890s, I believe.

No, not really. Most of the Samoan and Tongan dudes come from hard working, blue collar families.
There are several playing for #1 ranked Euless Trinity here in the Dallas area.
Maybe he can teach the other players to do the Haka before their games:

Honorable Thomas G. Jones was just wildly prescient. He knew that 120 yrs down the road,it would be covered in tarballs.
