Luatua also gives Alabama a chance with NG Viliami Moala. He's the prototype for the 3-4 defense.
What's the relationship between the two? Teammates, family?

They are both from California, and know each other from camps. Moala likes Alabama, but mentioned he was hesitant to come to Tuscaloosa, because there had never been a Samoan player at Alabama. Luatua's commitment changes things, and he (Luatua) said he would be recruiting Moala to follow him.
USC's sanctions also helps Alabama. We'll be fighting an uphill battle against Cal now, but at least we have a shot with Luatua in his ear.

Moala is from Northern California (Sacramento)& has been quoted as saying he wants to be near his family. Cal is leading for him, & they also run the perfect system for his skills. Unlikely he comes to Bama.

That doesn't change the fact that Moala and Luatua have communicated. They've been around one another at camps, and Moala has expressed his interest in Alabama. And while Cal is where he likely ends up, I don't see how you believe a 6-2 330 pound tackle is better fitted for the 4-3, than Alabama's system.

He'll prove to be the best Center in this class...if Dog the Bounty Hunter doesn't get him first.

Cal runs 3-4. Very similar defense to Alabama.

And that goes back to my point. Your original comment was that he fit better in Cal's defense.

Saving that for Jesse Williams, will cost a bunch for us to fly his family in from Australia.

Football is the favored sport in American Samoa. A lot of really great talent comes from there and I'm surprised that more coaches, other than on the west coast, don't recognize this.

I think most recognize it, it's just the kids rather stay out west, cause that's where they are from and where they wanna be. Not a whole lot of super talented SEC kids heading out west either. There are some, but that's cause there are easy starting opportunities for them out there, or their brother got a scholly, etc. In the SEC, you have to be talented and work for it.

He can play tight end, outside linebacker or defensive end, but ... Notre Dame, LSU and Oklahoma and his father went to BYU (though he's not LDS). .... Viliami Moala, 6-5, 305, Sacramento (Calif.)
