VPISU usually starts the season out strong and fades toward the end. I think it could be a close game. Bama might not have their O running well at the beginning of the season, so VPISU has a shot. If it were week 3 or later I'd say Bama in a rout.

I'm expecting a close game, just because 2 good defenses and no idea what to expect from either offense right now.

of course they aren't that was 7 years ago but they still have a head coach that puts alot on his special teams and sabans special teams have been known to crumble

I'm scared. Way too much, "I think Bama should beat 'em." and "VaTech is way overrated"
Where's the hate man?
Why would we want Bama to lose to V-tech, only makes our win in Tuscaloosa look worse

I have a feeling it will be D vs D and a low scoring game. Some kind of defensive score or a field goal may determine this game, imo.
The second post summed it all up. Both will have great defenses. The VT offense is hoping for Taylor to be great, but it is still a question mark on how great he will be this coming season. Bama has to replace 3 offensive lineman(2 All-Americans) on a unit that completely depends on their dominance. Bama also starts a relatively green QB so his ability to make the offense more dynamic is questionable.
I think it will be a toss up; however, I would lean more to Va Tech based off of the fact they have a more experienced leader at QB.

For personal reasons I'm not a fan of VT, so I'd like to see the Tide roll in this game only
I really gave it some effort to try and think of a team I would rather see lose every game than Bama. The only thing I could come up with was a hypothetical team composed of only child molesters and coached by the drunk driver that killed my mother. At that point, I would not mind seeing Bama win a close one in OT.

Does anyone have a well thought out argument or telling evidence that Bama wins this one on Sept. 5
Oh, um, yeah....I aint got shite to contribute here.

I hear VT keeps playing the tape of last years Clemson Game. I think VT will be ready and no one will ever not be prepared for Bama.
