tickets have nothing to do with it being a home game for UT. I guess you guys think the FSU game was "neutral" as well.

Not sure what you're getting at, but if Bama fans come in and outnumber Texas fans, that creates more of a home field atmosphere for Bama. Not sure what other advantage a team could have if the opposing team's fans take over.

in FSU's case playing only 45 mins. from their campus was like saying when Bama played at Legion Field was a neutral site game.

when I left Jacksonville, the only bit of positive I saw coming from the game was Bama would hopefully never scheduled a "neutral" game with a team in its home state again.

You can bet your arse that our side of the stadium will be crimson and white.

Tallahasse to Jax is more like a three hour drive. Definitely closer to Jax than Tscaloosa, though.

I bet a good bit of Alabama fans will show up.

I'm guessing the stadium will be 55-45 Texas.

I am not sure the OU game would enter into the equation since that is a conference game. Texas still has 4 non-conference games to schedule. They could easily do one at a neutral site and the other three at home.

As much as it sucks for us to play florida every year....i'm sure they're saying the same about us every year considering we're better than anyone else in the east.

Whats our recent record against UGA? Tennessee is always a tough game? I know we are good and I am sure UF doesn't enjoy playing us every year, but lets be realistic...we aren't "head and shoulders" above every team in the eastern division.

I think schools are going to look at these "premier games" at a neutral site more often. Sure, there is a loss of revenue by giving up the home game. However, Alabama has to look at what this game can do for their recruiting in Texas.

Furthermore, these games are usually at the beginning of the season when everyone else is playing the Northeast Techinical School for Welders. A chance to go into a state annually and recruit while doing it on National TV???

This rumor is making its rounds, and gaining strength - being confirmed by those close to members in the AD. Not a "done deal" at this point, but we're getting there.

This is the first I've heard of this. Nobody in Austin seems to know anything about it, so I'm willing it bet it's just a rumour. I do know that we have a home/home series with Ole Miss coming up in a few years.
