Bama vs. LSU prime time game?

I'm assuming that our game will be the prime time (Herbstreit and Musberger) game that weekend especially if both teams are undefeated. I don't mind CBS that much but it will suck if this game is a run of the mill 2:30 PM CBS game. We get stuck with a TON of those games each season. I use to not be able to stand Musberger but he's actually become bearable teamed with Herbstreit. They have a nice chemistry as an announcing team.

I am quite sure it will be on CBS at 2:30

I would bet my last $ its the 2:30 game. No way CBS passes on this and unless they re-write the contract STAT they can only show it at 2:30.

Nope.
CBS gets first dibs on the SEC game of the week. That is the one thing that sucks about the SEC contract with CBS.
I expect Bama/LSU to be CBS and Ark/South Carolina to be primetime on ESPN that night.

Frickin CBS. They choose a Florida home game every year as their prime time game but didn't have the foresight to see what a special matchup this could be. Morons.
So much for all day tailgating as well.

And have to pre-empt "48 Hour Mystery" ? Gracious, no one would rather see #1 vs #2 in November.
CBS should have a clause sort of like MNF football when they can (I think) move a Sunday game late in the season to Monday. Not suggesting CBS move the day, just give them a contractual provision with the SEC and therefore the SEC's contract with ABC/ESPN where CBS can slot another primetime game.

Makes a lot of sense.

I hope it's a night game just to piss off the LSU fans over all their SEC games being moved to daytime. Won't happen though.

Herbstreit does the ABC games, the SEC games are on ESPN or CBS.
I would assume it will be game day and he will be there in the morning. Also, the game will be on CBS, no doubt about it.

I was going to be a smartass since this has been posted 635282929292 times but I refrained. CBS only does one primetime game a year and they used that up on that UA-UF barn burner already. They have first choice for the games and will choose LSU Bama for their 2:30 slot

Why don't you go frick yourself a-hole.
I guess when you're Arkansas, you don't know anything about tradition.

I understand the CBS contract completely. It just seems like they reserve Florida as their primetime game every year. Granted Florida's been great in recent years but they seem to have no flexibility in this part of the contract. How the frick did they not see the potential of the Alabama/LSU game this year?

listen here you beautiful bitch, I'm going to drop some fricking knowledge on you.
CBS gets first dibs of games and their game HAS to be shown at 2:30. NO frickING WAY CBS passes up on LSU-Alabama. Therefore it will be at 2:30 unless CBS passes on the biggest college football since UT-tOSU to kick off the season a while back or tOSU-Michigan in 2006.

Lighten up dickhead. Just having a little sport with yall this morning. If I was an LSU fan I'd be pissed off too that TV slots are messing with tradition of night games in Tiger Stadium. You are the master of "dish it out, but can't take it".

I'm sure CBS is regretting their decision of making UA-UF their prime time game this year. Granted the match looked good on paper in the lead up to the game. But even before they announced the game times, most people could see that LSU and Alabama were two very dominant teams. Would it have been so difficult to take a chance and save their prime time slot for UA-LSU? The ratings would have been off the charts.

Can I start the daily "What time will the LSU-Alabama game be on" thread tomorrow?

This is the part I have a gripe with. You have 2 preseaon Top 4 teams playing in a conference and division that has won multiple national titles the last few years. The division these 2 teams are in (SEC West) went like 16-2 last year against the SEC East yet the SEC East team coming off its worst season in a few years gets the featured CBS primetime game instead of a #1 vs. #2 matchup. It makes absolutely no sense at all.
As for Herbstreit/Musberger, I don't know what I was thinking there. Call it a brain cramp.
