Why use Taulia to handoff twice to burn his fourth game? Wouldn’t you think it would be better to get him more reps against Western Carolina or do you think they are now burning a redshirt year?

Because the second Tua went down, he became the backup QB. You don't redshirt your backup QB. He is literally the only other potential QB on the roster. Tyson is two years from being game ready.

How many people are going to ask this stupid question?

Lsu did last year.

Jones is only a Sophomore. Tyson will redshirt and Bryce Young is coming in. They aren't all going to stick around, so it really doesn't matter.

Brennan is Tyson. If you have to play him, your season is over.

Because it’s not a stupid question, it was a stupid decision to burn one of Taulia’s redshirt games on 2 meaningless snaps.

In all fairness, it’s probably not going to matter in the long run now. And I would venture to say everyone on that sidelines was in some form of shock over the carnage in that game and some small details like that one temporarily fell through the cracks.

With 3-5 games left (considering you make it to the title game), would you play him much or do coaches consider him as possibly better than Jones? I have no clue it’s why I am asking here. No reason to be an a-hole

Sorry. I overreacted. There have been a ton of shitposts by people with LSU tags by their usernames in the last two days.

Bama has two qb's on the roster now capable of playing DI football. One of them only has about 20 snaps in his college career. I think he could potentially be better than Jones one day, but the important thing is that he is the only serviceable qb behind Jones on the roster.

Let me put it this way, if something were to happen to Jones, WR Slade Bolden is more likely to be the backup QB to Taulia than Tyson.

Yes it is.

He is now one of only two QB's on the roster currently capable of playing college football. I can't fathom how stupid someone would have to be to think the inexperienced backup QB, and only other QB on scholarship, doesn't need more snaps.

2 snaps turning around and handing the ball off hardly contributed anything to his development sorry.

They will get him as many snaps as they can. If Jones had led the team to any points, Taulia would have been in on multiple drives.

Seriously, have any of you people ever played football?

Lol more than you think, and no those 2 snaps did nothing to further his development. If you believe they had significant value as opposed to a redshirt year then we will just have to disagree.

The number 2 is irrelevant. He will get every single snap they feel comfortable giving him as he is the ONLY backup QB. It doesn't matter if it's 2 or 20. There is no redshirt when your starter has 70 career passing attempts and your only backup has 9.

AJ McCarron redshirted and had McElroy not been able to play a game McCarron would have been the starting qb. The key point is that McElroy didn't have to miss a game, same as it's entirely possible that Mac Jones may play the next 2 regular season games and the bowl game (not counting on playoffs) without a substitution.

I thought that Taulia had played in 2 games but another poster said 3. I think it was goofy as hell to bring him in for 2 snaps to hand off for a running play into the line to run out the clock. If you're going to bring him in, and jeapordize the red shirt this late in the season, at least let him run a productive play.
