So after this informative, groundbreaking thread I have now come to the conclusion that most LSU fans think that LSU will win, while most Alabama fans think Alabama will win.
Exhilarating.

Honest assesmet is Bama is just better on offense and Defends.
Even with the losses Bama has had the #1 defense in the SEC for the last 4 yrs in a row. LSU even has slightly better personnel, but Bama has a better front 7 and Offensive line.
Some LSU will come argue their Offensive line is just as good, but its not close Imo. LSU got little to no pressureon McCarron. The Bama front 7 stops the run better and affects the QB just as well.
Offensively LSU using rb by committee hurts because no rb is allowed to get in a rhythm.
OBJ and Laundry are decent, but no better than Bell, Norwood, Chris Jones etc.
McCarron seems to be the better decision maker at QB also. Bama is just better.

Equates to a 24-17 victory for LSU.......give or take.
What LSU did on Jan 9th means absolutely nothing in November.....

I'm sorry, but you can't lose that many starters and expect to not lose a step. The guys behind them are talented, no doubt, but they won't be at the level your SRs and ee Jrs were last year. That doesn't just happen automatically.

Offensive line.
LSU returns 5 players with starting experience. Three technical starters, plus Dworaczyk (injured last year) and Williford (started down the stretch last year).

Are you kidding? Our running game was excellent last year and should be the same. Kenny Hilliard dominated carries in the Arkansas and Georgia games and I would expect to see a lot more of him, and a lot less of Ware.

They are both better. Plus we have Shepard, Boone, and Wright, not to mention we have Avery Johnson coming in.

You haven't even seen Mett play.

I could see that. I could also see Bama sneaking out with a 3 point win. The people predicting a blowout for either team haven't been paying attention. LSU is going to be chomping at the bit before that game and Bama's going to be too strong and too well coached to get blown out. It'll be a heck of a game.

Without JJ we are screwed.
Bama by 21?

Toss up right now if Mettenberger is as good as advertised than LSU by a long shot.

Personally, I haven't ruled out Arkansas. They've got the talent and sometimes controversy brings a team together. The problem is that they share the division with two of the strongest programs in the country. They do get Bama and LSU at home though so anything's possible.

Maybe John L. can get Ark over the Bama/LSU hump that always seemed to get the best of Bobby.

After the ratings and disappointment that last year's rematch brought, I don't think you will see it happen again. At least not in back to back years.

Obviously the defense won't be as good as last year. But it will still be the best in the SEC, just like it has been for the past 4 years. You guys say the same thing about "you lost _____ players" every year, and yet, Bama somehow replaces them and leads the SEC in defense again.

Bama lost nine starters on defense after 09 and still had the #1 defense the following yr. Its more about scheme with Bama than personnel. Its a given Bama will have the best D. Bama will be the best at stopping the run and that's what SEC offenses try to do.
LSU Offensive line was dominated by the Bama front and they are better with Jesse in the middle than an injured Chapman.
Bama O line handled LSU front pretty well. Chavis did call some great run blitzs and tackled Richardson in the backfield.

Nobody said that last year you were consensus top two and preseason NC pick. Stop generalizing things that simply aren't true.
