I know we had a bunch of rushing yards for the second week in a row, but I think we need to go back to using a FB. I hate this 2 TE bullshite.

I would think it gives another passing threat on the field and would be harder to defend against.

We've run well the first two weeks with it and ran well all last year using it, why change?

It's more to do with our (seemingly) inability to convert short yardage situations. We do fine on 1st and 2nd downs, but struggle on 3rd and short. A FB would ease those downs, in MO.

I still like the 2 te set even on short yardage. I think we use them to help out with pass blocking as well correct? Plus if you go to a fb on short ydg situation i would think that would not only take away some of your options but teams would stack the line on short ydg.

USC utilizes their FB just about as good as anyone. Couple years ago we used Sutherland a lot.

frick off you stalking sack of shite I dont have to prove my fanhood to a loser like you. I simply mean that with 2 te you have another option to throw to who more than likely has better hands than a fb. Seriously why is it so hard for you to understand that watching bama beat a hs team on a 15in computer monitor is something i would want to do as opposed to watching Oh ST/ Ga/LSu games on a 50 in in the comfeort of my living room?

dont we have a coach that is lesser than you to make these calls . Oh will U lend me a dallor?

i was tempted to say "whoa there"...but let me get things straight first....you chose to watch another game while Bama was playing?
unacceptable. end of discussion.

Maybe Dick Saban should have paid Malzahn to school him on his offense instead of bringing Bob Stoops to Tuscaloser.

Simply, the two tight end formation allows for more multiples (as was said) On the run side, it allows for more gaps when running. Harder to fill them.
And they really confuse opponents with the passing game, if you double cover one, that one always has a chance of staying in to block, and it may cause a little trouble to locate the other to make sure he isnt running a route. If you double both, you expose your D to a deep ball.
If they blitz, they either must zoneblitz or risk a tight end or rb being wide open without anyone within ten yards.
And then, zone blitz's need to go where the ball is going to be effective.
When we get a good allpurpose fullback (i hear Mark Marrow is a candidate next year) im pretty sure we will see FB formations more. But the two tight end stuff has its merits for now.
