LSU played Rice on 11/24 last season

True,but Rice is D-1. A bad one,but D-1.

I get the "its hard to get good teams". Why not play UAB,Troy or South Alabama instead of this odd fixation with 1-AA FCS Southern Conference teams?

Yeah, next year its UT-Martin (11/14)

LSU starts the year with 4 of 5 games against UTSA, Rice, Ole Miss and Nichols State.

Alabama starts the year with Southern Cal and Georgia in 2 of our first 3 games.

It's just different timing.

LSU plays a bad 1AA team every year, too. Almost everyone in the SEC and ACC does.

I hate it - it's a game I never attend and basically give the ticket away for.

Okay,we played NW (LA) State. Why not play Samford, Alabama State or Alabama A&M?

I'll be honest, I don't really care one way or another. I'm sure it would help with tickets a little, and in-state folks might like it more though.

Alabama and most of the media are trying to get into the playoff with a "quality loss". They have no quality wins. Freaking amazing!!!!

To be fair LSU is playing Arkansas that day. Who has an easier day? Possibly a toss up. Western Carolina would probably be playing back ups in the fourth quarter against the piggies if they played.

Not everyone gets to play the Aggies as their end of season rivalry.

Honestly, when 11/23 comes around and other top 10 teams are playing decent opponents, this Bama opponent will be noticed because of the already existing knock on their schedule strength.

I could see the playoff committee meeting that following Sunday/Monday and reviewing the happenings of that weekend and really docking points from Bama.

Hope I'm right, because frick them.

Why are you worried about who Bama is playing? Weird but OK

I will say this is the year Bama could really regret not playing a top flight OOC game, really could be the difference in getting in the playoff over a 1 loss Big 12/PAC-12 champ and not.

I mean, it is really, really bad:

Duke (4-5)
New Mexico State (0-9)
Southern Miss (6-3)
Western Carolina (3-7 IN FCS!)

Their opponents are 13-24 in some horrible conferences/levels. That is so fricking bad.

That really is some weak arse scheduling for a team that has pretty much dominated college football for a decade.

...that’s why LSU moved up to #1 hurdling Ohio St. to make Bama’s loss not look as bad as it was...they are thinking losing by 5 points to a #1 ranked LSU team wasn’t all that bad...if Georgia beats AU knocking AU out of the top 10 this Saturday and bama beats AU, that still doesn’t give them a quality win in the top 10...there will be other 1 loss teams winning their Conference Championship games with quality wins over Top 10 teams ...schedules don’t lie....

Doesn’t look like those expectations went anywhere
