No team has more than 165, and we are averaging 3.01 yards per rush.... that seems pretty good. I'll take it...

We had 94 yards rushing. Moral victory FTW!

That's impressive but not as good as Florida's pass defense.

Well we are down from last year. Last year we only allowed 2.43 per rush on average. And no team got over a 4 yard avg. Where this year 4 teams have over a 4 ypc avg. And last year only three teams broke 100 yards rushing on us...

I was reading something earlier Georgia Southern related because of their win over florida (
), but if you remove our game against them in 2011 that defense would have ended up only allowing 53 yards a game.

I believe Georgia Southern's offense verses Bama's 2011 defense did better than most that season. Man, that 2011 defense was something special. It's not that shocking this undisciplined Gator team did a terrible job against an GS offense that needs major discipline to beat. Throw in Florida's unproductive offense and we had the perfect storm. Georgia Southern is a smaller program you better take seriously or you better be good enough on offense to easily outscore them.
Bama defense doesn't have to keep Auburn under 100 yards rushing. Bama just needs to contain the running game just enough while outscoring them. Bama usually doesn't have the type of offense that can go win a game, but this seasons Bama offense can do that if necessary. Combinethat with an above avgerage defense that tackles well most of the time. It's been an effective approach and hopefully it continues to be so......

It tickles me that AU fans are certain that it will be Alabama's defense that loses the battle on the ground, no chance that our running defense stops them.

If you'll recall, scrubs got a lot of PT in that Bama / GSU game to avoid injuries to starters, and also to rest them.

I think it is unlikely you're going to stop Auburn. But like another gump poster mentioned, you don't have to.
In theory, hold Auburn to under 200 yards. That is a more reasonable goal. Make Auburn go find 200+ yards in the passing game. That provides the potential for NM mistakes. Moreover, while 400+ yards of offense would probably give AU a strong shot, there is no reason Alabama can't outscore AU in that circumstance.
Now, that is theoretical. In practice, coaches get miffed and make changes that could hurt or help. Saban could get frustrated about our (relative) success on the ground, or Gus could get upset at our (relative) lack of success. Turnovers, special teams, etc., all could mess with this dynamic.
Anyway, the point is that Auburn can have success by your standards, but not by ours. But, as I'll be surprised if we're able to run to our average on you, I'll be surprised if you're able to hold us to your average.
